Glenn Beck endorses Cruz for president 2016

Personally I think both Cruz and Rand running is a good thing. I am not sold on either. If they run and debate it would be healthy for America. Both at least lean our way!

Clearly the establishment saw that the Rubio, and Christie ships had sunk. This fake filibuster was planned and even approved by both sides leadership to put wind in Cruz sails. Cruz very clearly is being put up to split the liberty and tea party vote from Rand. Sadly it seems that many here are buying it.

EXACTLY.

lol, it's the Ted Cruz Surge! Like the Cain/Bachmann/whatever surges. Except it's years early.

People are so gullible. Cruz's whole goal with this non-filibuster was to get media attention, and they just gave it to him hook, line and sinker.

Beck is saying that he sees Rand Paul and Ted Cruz are the only two legitimate choices for 2016.

They will put Cruz up against Rand in 2016... He is meant to stop Rand and destroy his chances.

Cruz is a self-serving, greasy, slick politician.... A Rand Paul he is NOT.

He's all I see on the news stations right now, so it worked. It's early and he wasn't really an impressive speaker, so he will peter out pretty soon. That said, he is positioning for a run; I don't see how some can't see that.

Cruz will put himself up. He doesn't need anyone to do it for him. I don't see him as a liberty candidate, but I'm sure he's much too much so for the establishment wing. They would love to see Cruz and Rand eat away at each other, I'm sure. I hope Rand emerges as the winner between the two; otherwise, I'll be going LP in 2016.

The establishment is no fan of Cruz just based off the comments from Kristol and others. The question that needs to be asked however is, how far does Cruz want to push?

This is a real problem for the liberty movement, people don't seem willing to share the spotlight at all. We'd all be cheerleading Rand like there is no tomorrow if he were out there and this was his idea but since it's Ted Cruz he's obviously an establishment plant and secret Trotskyite hell bent on derailing Rand's future presidential run in 2016 by stealing his thunder by being even more extreme. I imagine the same people freaking out about Ted Cruz are the same people that freaked out about Gary Johnson.

Rand and Ted are allies and if Ted does run in 2016 which I am not convinced he will, I think it will help Rand. If you can support Ted Cruz then it shouldn't be that much of a stretch to support Rand and I hope that Ted would endorse Rand if he were to run and drop out since I know Rand would. I'd much rather have Cruz and Rand polling near the top of the field than just Rand and Rubio + Bush + Christie + Ryan.

What a moron.

+rep.

That's really all I needed to know. There are a number of positions on Rand that I can sympathize with, but Cruz is just evil and that's really all there is to it.

I could maybe understand, although it would be far too pragmatic for my liking, to endorse Ted Cruz if it came down to him, Rubio, Christie, and Jeb Bush, but to endorse Cruz while Rand is even more likely to run than Cruz is tells me all I need to know.

I'd love to call into his show sometime and challenge him on this. Lol. I no longer take him very seriously though.

My problem with Ted Cruz isn't "He's not Rand." Its not going to happen, but if Amash or Massie were to run in the GOP primary, I'd actually vote for them over/instead of Rand.

I'm honestly beginning to question if I was right to support Gary Johnson or not. I'd probably vote for him in '16 if we had another field like the 2012 field (Johnson, a pathetic constitution party candidate, a social democrat borderline socialist, and two Israel-first jingoistic warmongers) but I don't think I'd spend as much time trying to convince other people to vote for him as I did in 2012. Its still kind of a "lesser of evils" kind of choice.

But Gary Johnson at least seems to mean well. Ted Cruz is very good about being subtle when looking for opportunities to warmonger or glorify the military, but he's still doing so, and his loyalty is still to Israel. Just look at the tweets on his twitter page from a few days ago. Just look at his anti-Iran rhetoric.

This isn't really about Rand Paul at all. I honestly couldn't care less about him personally. He's our best senator and our best option, and I support him for that reason, but I would EASILY switch support to someone else if there was someone better.

I don't like Ted Cruz because he's not on our team in any respect.

I don't have a problem with working with anybody and everybody on specific issues. Ron worked with Kucinich on Iraq, and that was great. Rand is working with Ted Cruz on Obamacare, and that's great. But I couldn't support either Kucinich or Ted Cruz as a whole person, with all of the stances they have.

If he's good enough for Ron Paul, he's good enough for me. What he did was incredible and those bashing him might as well go stand with Harry Reid. Heck, Rand Paul came down to support him.
