Glen Beck fill in bout to talk about RP scaring him....

I definitely plan to talk to this goofball tomorrow or Friday.

He might have been a "goofball" on a couple of issues, but at leat he cut us a even break and deserves a "thank you" for being objective. We can make him come around!!:D

Did anybody catch his email address? I plan on emailing him and mention my points of contention with him, and also add that his fairness is both refreshing and objective.!!:)

I want to press (Hold It!*) him on a couple of things...

First, foreign aid: we don't have anything to give!! The US giving out foreign aid is like being in massive credit card debt and buying crap for your friends instead of paying down what you owe.

Second, troops coming home: what do we actually lose by bringing home our troops? No, seriously, what? Between our submarines and our hypersonic research programs, we can apply force just about anywhere, just about instantly, with precision that would make IEEE 754 blush.

Lastly, the Israel issue: who would actually ever even consider touching them in a truly threatening way? They have nukes. Lots of nukes.

If there's still time, it's maybe worth discussing our meddling in the middle east...but I doubt he'd be willing to truly listen on that subject.

*I'll die if anybody gets that.

Agreed. If someone has an e-mail link, please post it here. I'd like to let him know that the USS Cole was bound for the Persian Gulf to help maintain the naval quarantine of Iraq. So, to deny that American policies had anything to do with the ship being attacked is a bit naive.

It took me a little while to research that, but frankly I don't think it should be the job of the American taxpayer to HAVE to research things like this -- it should be the job of our elected officials to investigate and report back to the American taxpayer. Similarly, it should be the job of our media to do their own independent investigative work and report to their subscribers/viewers.

Sadly -- and one of the driving factors of the Ron Paul Revolution -- neither our congressional representatives or the mainstream media is doing their job. The "message" that the American taxpayer receives is filtered and manipulated by the neo-con elite, too often without any regard to the truth. The media - who should be our independent watchdogs - instead spin the "message" to lend credibility to the lies and deceit of their elite friends, and assist by spreading fear amongst the public, making it easier for the neo-cons to strip away the remaining liberty in our country. This is why Ron Paul's supporters turn to the internet for their news rather than accept the spoon-fed BS dished out by the mainstream media.

Ron Paul has his own "message" -- and it's simple -- restore truth and honesty to politics and return the power (and our hard-earned money) to the people, so that we can have more say in how that money is spent by dealing with this at local and State levels. Most of our politicians (and a lot of American taxpayers) today seem to have forgotten that the taxpayer is also part of the system of checks and balances since we have the power to vote. I, like so many other Ron Paul supporters I've talked to, have abstained from voting in the past, giving up that power. Dr. Paul cured my apathy and restored the voice that I'd almost forgotten that our founding fathers gave me.

We and RP really need to address this question much better. What really SCARES people is the disruption to the status-quo economic structure. Many people in many industries are making big money off of the status quo. They don't want to have to learn to serve their fellow men in new ways. They want to keep doing exactly what they're doing now whether its working for military contractors or the imperial legions directly.

Or, if they're working in some "private" industry in the U.S., they don't want competition from 500,000 new competitors. This is the MAIN reason people really hate illegal aliens--not because their racist bigots, but because they hate the free competitive marketplace.

We need to explain that its this addiction to the government command economic system that is even more dangerous than breaking the addiction. Each infusion of phony money to prop up these government projects has less effect than the previous ones, just as an alcoholic requires more booze to get blitzed as he becomes more and more addicted.

Yes, RP's program will subject Americans to competition that we're not used to. But, the flip side is that we will keep all of our earnings, and have less restrictions and regulations on our honest business activity. And we will all be wealthier as consumers getting much more value for far less prices.

Just a thought. Why not open some of the bases that were closed in our country? Those bases were a an economical boost to those communities prior to closure.

No, the problem is government commanding the spending.

The solution is letting us hire these new workers with the new money that we get to keep, not putting them on the dole again doing the same things in government bases that the people in the economy don't want them doing.

The old bases should be turned over to us--the people--to make actual economic use of.
