Gingrich: Ron Paul's probably going to run again

the only reason so many will run is because they fear Ron Paul so need to make sure they run multiple candidates

I really think some of the 'new' guys are optimistic as I can't see them gaining much traction but unfortunately they will get a ton of free Establishment promotion and media as it doesn't matter which one wins as they're all bought off.

... AND... when the campaigning is over they will be able to write a book about how great their ideals were so they too can make millions!!

Multiple candidates helps RP more than hurts him.

The reason they're all going to run is because they all think they have a shot.

No it doesn't erowe because a nobody like Mitch Daniels or Hayley Barbor will be the subject of establishment fluff pieces and Hannity orgy's, time on Fox and the networks while Ron is "crowded" out and safely ignored

That is what they did last time

What Ron needs to do is come out of the gate quickly, raise 20 million and bury Romney with negative ads in Iowa on Romneycare in MA

We need to set the agenda on the Iowa and NH airwaves

we need to dispense of our political enemies, ruthlessly and efficiently while also selling Ron and I'm guessing his consistant position against the war will be viewed a lot more favorably by then so maybe we can sell that to the GOP primary voter

I really think we need a strong grassroots PAC to go after our enemies on the air such as exposing Huck for releasing a killer with hard hitting ads

I hate negative campaigns, I'd much rather a focus on a positive campaign about what could be done when we win, not how much slime the other guy is.

Haley Barbour and Mitch Daniels will both get plenty of establishment fluff pieces and Hannity won't hesitate to tout them as great Americans if they go anywhere in the primaries, which I think they both stand a decent shot at.

Last time the crowded field helped RP a whole lot more than it hurt him. Unfortunately, it didn't stay crowded enough for long enough. And the RP campaign didn't succeed at taking advantage of the opportunity it had when the field was still crowded.

If RP had gotten 3rd place in both Iowa and New Hampshire (which he was within spittin' distance of in both states), and if the field stayed crowded longer with Giuliani's plan of staking everything on Florida and Fred Thompson's plan of staking everything on South Carolina being successful, so that it was still anybody's race after Super Tuesday, with Romney, McCain, Huckabee, Giuliani, Thompson, and Paul all having to fight until the end with no clear early winner, that would have been better for RP, not worse. That doesn't mean he could have won it, just that a crowded field that divides the establishment vote is what he needs.

RP won't do better than 25% of all GOP primary voters. And the cumulative support of the establishment candidates won't be less than 60%. So RP needs a bunch of establishment guys to water that down between them.

You heard it here first. Sometime after the Iowa Straw Poll, Palin is going to endorse Ron Paul for president. Palin's poll numbers are way to low for her to make an effort that would not damage her reputation.

Ron shouldn't go on the attack, instead he should work hard to be portrayed as the "wise old man" in the race. That shouldn't be too hard, considering he looks like Gandalf.

I want some of that stuff you're smoking.

I agree, a crowded field helps because his support will not be diminished by a crowded field.

It is a whole new ballgame this time. Last time he started polling at "*" or 1-3 at most for half the primary season. This time, he has been on TV (respecfully)
more than any other elected republican official for years, has real a real legislative accomplishment to point at (audit the fed) and and has REAL support. Make no mistake, he is a contender.

She aint gonna run for just that reason. She'll act like it, but she wont. She very well could endorse him though if his stature continues to grow.

Yeah, his polling numbers will likely be double digits to start, therefore it will backfire if the media puts him in the dunce corner during the debates. That alone should spike up his polling numbers since the typical voter only sees the center candidates as viable.

I predict 20 percent after the first round of debates, and then a very rocky road from there.

i've written this multiple times, but i think the key is to get democrats to switch in the early states. republican's tend to fall in line - so we need to do what we did last time only better and get the anti-war pro-pot democrats and independents to carry us over, then later states will fall in line and republicans will be able to feel good about voting for the guy with sound principles.

and everybody will learn about the fed between the primary and the general.

Although Obama running relatively unopposed could backfire on us, if a bunch of big govt democrats register in order to vote for romneycare.
