George Soros pledges $10 million to defeat Sheriff Joe for reelection

Supporting Soros on the ronpaulforums ... Well I think I'll have seen about everything, when I see an elephant fly.

no one is supporting soros, but we sure are not going to support an anti liberty/freedom sheriff. he is no friend to liberty!

Yes, I'm sure that it is it. How many immigration laws must one enforce to erase the years of abuse of power? How many immigration laws must be enforced to compensate for the hundreds of rape victims? SB1070 surely has to repay the millions of unaccounted funds in the MCSO, right? I salute George Soros for his contribution. I would rather have my taxes go to getting that tyrannical p.o.s. out of power than to pay his salary.

Whoa. Please research George Soros. I understand you don't like Sheriff Joe, but he is small fry compared to Soros.

Let them spend their wealth battling eachother.

Also pretty fucked up that folks like Soros are meddling in the affairs of the individual states.

More so that people on this website support such activity, when they claim it is wrong to be doing such things at the federal level ... Double standard ?

Will enjoy seeing Soro's waste $10 million. For those of you who think the sheriff is a fascist. I take pleasure in a sheriff that upholds all laws and does not pick and choose. It is the laws we are trying to change, ie war on drugs. I respect him for standing up to the federal government as I see county sheriffs as the top law enforcement officer for local communities. I am from Orange County California and I wish our sheriff and the sheriffs north and south of me would push back against the federal government abusing my fellow county citizens. The federal war on drugs runs rampant in LA, Orange, and San Diego counties through intimidation and threats.
He does pick n' choose, though. If he were a "constitutional sheriff" which people around here advocate, he wouldn't be cooperating with the Feds in their "Drug War" and so on. If you're looking for a sheriff to respect, look elsewhere.

What do you think he has the money for in the first place..?
It is his role as shit stirrer.

And he is connected to a whole line of shit stirrers.
Witness the old battle of Communism v Fascism played out again and both funded by the same folks.

Where have I seen this before?

Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.
:(

I'd vote against Sheriff Joe if he was in my district. He loves to abuse his power and people.

The guy sent in a SWAT team after an unarmed school administrator in the middle of the night who had not even committed a crime. Then there was the time he sent in Steven Segal on a tank along with anther SWAT raid to go after some guys who were fighting chickens.

I forgot about that. Didn't they shoot the homeowner's dog while simultaneously wasting thousands of tax payer money? We should probably have a thread dedicated just for the abuses of Arpaio.

Edit: Knew I was forgetting something.

hxxp://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2012/03/steven_seagal_joe_arpaio_deputies_sued_for_reality.php

The Sheriff’s Office, which used “a tank, a bomb robot and 40 deputies,” according to the Arizona Republic, accidentally killed over 100 of Llovera’s roosters and his 11-month old dog during the course of the raid.
....
Llovera’s suit claims that the raid was conducted for the purposes of the show, and is part of a pattern of Arpaio “arresting and prosecuting individuals without probable cause solely for the selfish and improper purposes of achieving personal and political gain through publicity,” the Republic reports.

No evidence that the guy ever was fighting chickens. As far as I know,, no conviction. He was arrested once (prior) for attending a fight.
The guy does have a law suit for destruction of property.

Nobody could be worse than Joe, so I never thought I'd say this, but "Go Soros!"

Who needs charges anyways? The woman school administer was supposedly accused of stealing money from school funds- problem is, nothing was missing or even reported as missing. She sued too. Sheriff Joe lawsuits have cost the county millions.

The left has lot's of money that forces government to spend money defending itself against frivilous lawsuits.

Do you think the two cases cited were "frivilous"? Innocent people were attacked by (local) government SWAT teams. What determines if a lawsuit is frivilous? Legal action is supposed to be a tool to fight against abuse or tyrany. Sure there are some stupid ones- but I would not want to restrict all lawsuits for that reason.

Nor would I ... That's why, while I consider it stupid, I support the Federal governments ability to sue a State, in the same fashion and with much less stupidity, I support an individuals right to sue any level of government it wishes.

The problem, and reason I call one act stupid, is because it serves only a political purpose ... Many of the lawsuits that have political connotation are stupid, and I consider those who align with someone like Soros to be bottom of the barrel scum, or severly misguided, and in need of a more open perspective.

I feel the same for anyone defending Arpaio.
