Sgt. Sheetrit lost a leg in the fighting on October 7. Best coverage is probably Jimmy Dore. Add to this that Netanyahu has been the biggest funder of Hamas and the whole picture changes. Honestly anyone who knows that tiny 39 miles border between Israel and Gaza knows it is the most heavily surveillanced, heavily patrolled real estate in the world. A cat could not get close to the fence without the IDF knowing it. No way 1,000 Hamas came through with Toyotas and hang-gliders wihout a lot of help.

“We were playing on the phone [at 5:20 a.m.] and suddenly a strange message comes from my battalion commander…And what he says on the call is something like this: ‘I don’t know why, but an order was issued that there are no patrols at the fence until nine in the morning…."

"And Tomer gives us this look like,. What? You know, we’re simple soldiers, just combatants. we’re infantry, not commanders or officers who can ask questions, right?
