Gary Johnson + Write in Votes could have given Romney the win

The vote total in Florida is:
Obama: 4,129,502
Romney: 4,083,441
Gary Johnson: 43,480

Obama - Romney votes = 46,061

I cannot find the write in totals statewide, but my county alone had 674 write-in votes.
Also in my county Gary Johnson received 1,676 votes, while in the primary Ron Paul received over 3,000. So I assume most of those write-ins are for Ron Paul.

We need to let the Republicans know that the LP votes and Ron Paul write-in votes cost them the election. Then in 2016 we need an announcement from the LP that they will not run a candidate against Rand Paul.

Romney still would've lost even if he had won Florida. He also lost Ohio, Virginia, and Colorado, which were states he had to win. Gary Johnson didn't cost Romney Ohio or Colorado.

Here's the problem with this line of thinking: the Republican party machine would rather LOSE to a democrat like Obama than win with a true liberty candidate. Why? Because the primary goal of BOTH parties is to preserve the corruption machine that they BOTH live for. Obama may divert largesse away from some of the Republican favorites, but he will leave the machine intact when he leaves so the Republican can make up the losses during the next administration. But a liberty candidate would destroy the machine. That is why the Republican establishment will NEVER allow a true liberty candidate to get the nomination. Same with the democrats.

Without looking at historical voting to see how many people may have stayed home or how many young RP supporters may have voted for Obama after the way the GOP treated RP. There are a lot of variables that will require some close scrutiny to determine for sure whether or not the GOP's/Romney's poor treatment of RP cost Romney the election.

If 3,000 of those "other" votes in Florida were Goode, we can safely say Ron Paul supporters could have made the difference for the GOP....if they had picked Ron Paul for president.

Edit: I just found the Florida results link. Goode didn't quite make 3,000. (Only 2545).

From this data it's hard to make the case that we made a difference. I'm assuming "WRI" stands for "write in". Ron Paul's name doesn't come up at all, and all of the "write ins" are 0 total and 0%. OP, where are you getting your data from?

A lot of people stayed home I'm sure. I did. Romney shot himself in the foot when he snubbed Ron Paul and treated him so badly. Romney got what he deserved.

Ummm....you were surprised by this? Some of us have been saying that's what would happen for months now. We've been shouted down by the "But you can figure out the write in by calculated the undervote" crowd. It took forever just to quit having Gary Johnson listed as an "opposition candidate". Mind you I didn't vote for GJ. But the idea but recklessly pushed by some that anyone not on the "write in Ron Paul" bandwaggon was some how not supporting Ron Paul. Those who tried to point out the truth were banned, got neg repped, or (more recently) received infractions. Oh it's okay to call those voting 3rd party "disloyal" but don't call those who thought writing in Ron Paul meant something "unrealistic". It's just like when we were pushing the "delegate strategy" and those who pointed out why that wasn't going to work were ostracized. Then....we found out from the campaign that it wasn't going to work. I know this may come across as overly negative, and perhaps it is. But at some point we have to mature to the place were we can all be honest about the chances of various strategies having a positive effect without such honest analysis itself becoming an issue.

Wrong, in 2008 in Ohio there were 500k more votes cast than in 2012. That means unless there has been a mass immigration from OH a lot of voters sat on the sidelines.
