I'm with Ron Paul. It's not about cuts. It's about letting people use their money to do better. This Johnson plan is no solution, no 'end game', as they say in chess, and nothing I would want to try to sell to the public.

It wouldn't even be that much in cuts. The entire defense budget is about $800 billion a year, and our foreign policy spending accounts for about a third of that budget. Thus, bringing all of our troops home would only save about $250 billion a year. We certainly need to bring our troops home, but we need to end the welfare state as well.

Ending Medicare Parts C and D, increasing age eligibility,means testing,etc. could realistically get us there without leaving millions of Seniors forced into this with nothing, sort of like Rand Paul's plan to make SS solvent.

might fly with some GOP voters but definitely not old ones. I don't think it's necessarily a good idea to talk about this with less than one percent of the vote nationwide. He might have some luck with libertarians and tea party folks. I could be wrong if he gets some headlines. I think he's going to have some trouble getting into debates...sorry GJ

Seniors paid into thi "trust fund" for their whole lives beliving they would be taken care of cutting it 100% just does not cut it. It's robbery. We owe them adn can not take this away.

He wants medicaid and (I believe) social security to be subject to the "50 laboratories of democracy" principle - he talks about it at length in his 30 minute stump speech (available over youtube). I disagree with his using the term 42%, which he uses just b/c it's the amount of our budget that is deficit spending and it's not actually the metric he talks about cutting those specific programs by when he stumps, but Gary has a solid plan on entitlement spending.

maybe you should speak for gary instead of gary!! where is garys campaign about the may5th debate? have they dropped the ball? did they even have the ball? Where is his support? oo yeah we are supporting Ron Paul! If he is a voice where is his campaign demanding he be in the may 5th debate! I support a Paul/Johnson 2012 ticket but i have been asking rlc and people who support gary and i am not getting the messages i was getting from the ron paul 2008 campaign, simple stuff like encourage folks to attend gop meetings ,register republican become a delegate!! I see far less being done by gary supporters in 2011 then was done by just a few ron paul supporters in 2008!! Gary seems dead in the water and yeah ooo the irony of this coming from a ron paul supporter
