Gary Johnson Gary Johnson to make "major announcement" April 21

I'm sorry but this is still retarded. Sure, it's NICE to have another Libertarian arguing for Classical Liberal views during the Presidential debates, but he would have a much greater impact in the Senate.

And luckily he has plenty of time to do both. Gary doesn't have to file for a Senate run until 1/1/12, which gives us time to have a grand ole' primary debate season followed by an Ames Accord before the Ames straw poll where the weaker of the two liberty campaigns drops and endorses.

Gary can drop. Ron won't. But meanwhile two being in will split the votes IN the straw poll which is a major mobilizing event. Just as at the SRLC Gary won one vote and Ron lost by one vote. Gary can do as he wishes, but there is no way this is good for Ron.

The whole point of the Ames Accord is to get one guy out of the race *before* the big straw poll.

The advantage of having more liberty-lovers in the primaries is that it legitimizes the candidates like Ron Paul.

When Ron was on his own, it was easy to dismiss his views because it appeared that no-one else shared them. However, with his increasing popularity these days and probably more liberty-oriented candidates running for 2012, one cannot simply dismiss the man, but must instead dismiss the ideas - which is harder to do.

+1
This sounds good to me.
