To get technical I think there are homosexual orientations and homosexual acts. So one may be oriented towards homosexuality such that it is there identity and lifestyle while the other person may not identify as homosexual, marry, but yet also engaged in a homosexual relationship or simply occasional homosexual sex. Further, there are effeminate males that are not gay just as there are masculine men that are gay. So, as culture has shifted, men are less inclined to act in stereotypical ways and therefore be perceived by others as gay when in fact they are not. In the end, to be gay, means to be emotionally attracted to the opposite sex..sexual behavior is not the main criteria, so in that case, I think the percentages are lower, but if you include by definition engaging homosexual sex, then the percentages would certainly be much higher and the 30% sounds about right...in the end, I think this is rather irrelevant but because of the moral cultural landscape dominated by religion, this is issue is inflated and creates an unneeded distraction in political affairs..essentially it becomes a wedge issue that is perpetuated by religious identities. I mean you don't see gays making a big deal about heterosexism...but rather the dominant heterosexual culture making a bigger deal of it...that's my two-cents
