I'm currently reading "The Collapse of the Dollar and How to Profit From It" by James Turk and John Rubino. In the book, he says "platinum which is sometimes called 'white gold'...". I later looked it up and white gold is NOT the same thing as platinum, rather, it's an alloy. In fact, there is no single "white gold", but rather many different alloy combinations containing gold and all are considered white gold.

I thought you were going to post something about milk because of your avatar. That's all.

I thought you were going to post something cool and insightful, talking about how white gold is a metaphor for the Ron Paul Revolution.

Maybe saying something to the effect of white gold being an alloy that can only be made by heating up a variety of metals and mixing them together under great heat. This mixture becomes white gold, and when cooled it exists as a solid under dynamic yet static tension. The individual metals remain separate from the others, but they are blended so smoothly that the division is invisible to the naked eye. However, when heated again, white gold will separate back into its original components.

Or something like that.
