If Rand Paul gets elected, its not proof that democracy works and people will vote for good ideas, but instead is proof that the system is rigged and Rand is being given a hospital pass so that libertarian-ism will be blamed for the collapse??

The hosts of Free Talk Live sound like A-grade idiots. All they do is dump on and distort Rand Paul. From this show, you'd think Rand was hardly any different than Paul Ryan. I'd say Rand's voting record is about 98% pure pro-liberty if you remove the controversial issues of abortion and immigration. His rhetoric is consistent with the pro-liberty position 98% of the time as well. His introduced legislation is 100% pro-liberty.

I also object to the secret conspiracy theory that Rand talks anti-liberty but is secretly pro-liberty that the FTL hosts propagate. This theory is pure idiocy and is really dumb and frankly dangerous. Rand rarely says anything anti-liberty, and when he does, everyone else is already saying it too so it really doesn't matter.
 
I'm a day behind on the podcast but I'll check this one out tomorrow. I'm looking at the listings of what they talked about tonight and Rand isn't even posted. I've known these guys for years and I've went back and forth w/ Mark for years specifically about Rand hoping he can get Ian on board. Mark is the more reasonable of the main hosts but the rest of them are flat out doctrinaire anarchists or voluntaryists. I listen mainly because Mark is entertaining. I've also made note that perhaps it is a good thing that they dump on Rand to make the weekend listeners think he's more normal if ya know what I mean.
 
Yeah but its hard core tinfoil fallacy that a vote going your way proves the vote is rigged.
 
I think it would be interesting if they got flooded with calls and Ian had to face his cognitive dissonance on this issue. That's all it is. You spend enough time saying "nothing is working, we need to be outside the system", its going to be weird when the system starts working.

Also, I don't know why this is in "flak and chaff" and some of the other MSM posts are on the main threadsite... :(
 
I will ignore all of the insults on this thread and focus on what I believe to be important...

Free Talk Live is an open forum show, we talk about what the callers call in with. I don't focus much research on Washington DC because I don't believe that freedom is to be found there. I will, however, vote for Rand Paul in the primary. I don't feel he gets a fair hearing on FTL, but that isn't my fault, its yours. You can pick up the phone any day from 7p to 10p Eastern and impart your knowledge and wisdom about Rand and you haven't. You have bitched on an internet forum and nearly no one has read it. Free Talk Live is on 160 radio stations. We have worked to build FTL for over a decade so that libertarians would have a voice. You dismiss us to your own detriment. You want Ian to know more about Rand Paul? Call him and tell him about Rand Paul. You don't like my position? Call and tell me how I am wrong.

it's nobody's fault.. if you want listeners, cater to their need and increase your appeal, it's that simple. and i haven't been flaking your show, so i guess we're all even.
 
FTL is doing fine for listeners. We are among the fastest growing radio shows in the country. I am responding to people that want their opinions on FTL but don't call in. Yes, it is one's fault if one wants one's opinion to be widely accepted but instead one bitches on an isolated, homogeneous message board instead of doing the obvious.

I'm trying to imagine who u r right now but it sounds good. We all know that many more peeps correspond via anything but calls.
