Free market failures

No, because I don't consent to having my paycheck robbed by them, but they do it anyway. Why? Because they have a monopoly over the use of force in this region of the world. They also enforce private monopolies in various areas of the country. Mass transit is a good example. Some are out right government ran without any competition by law, and some are private corporations, granted a competition free area of operation, IE a monopoly.

Quoting the declaration doesn't change anything.

The Government is a monopoly, and it does enforce itself. Whatever you think it should or should not do in theory is irrelevant. Reality is contrary to your pipe dream.

If you don't consent, then why don't you go off into the forest and build your own little society all to yourself? The rest of us ask you to follow certain rules if you want the right of using our resources and living in our communities.

Note: This is not so much as a collectivist statement, insofar as a trial by jury can be considered a "collective" decision. Be good to your fellow man, follow the rules agreed upon by most of the people, and you can be free and prosperous under the protection of the constitution.

Because one of you Statists will try and "protect" it from me.

So I can be free and prosperous as long as the Government allows me to keep the majority of my paycheck, after I follow all your rules? Sounds awesome! I'll even let you pat down my balls in a backscatter machine for the privilege of living in this "free" society of yours.

What resources do you think are "yours", I'm curious to know...

All of the ones that I produce. This is made clear under the rights outlined by the constitution.

The current government is off the rails, and is violating the rules of the constitution and working against the consent of the governed. It is time for a new revolution either within the system or without, to again establish just government in the interest of the people.

The way it is supposed to work is that rules and decisions are decentralized among the various states in the nation, and further decentralized across the various cities. The state holds the cities together in a cohesive order, while handling the enforcement of laws to big for individual principalities to deal with, such as highways.

The federal government similarly holds the various states together in an organized structure, and handles the enforcement of laws to big for individual states to deal with, such as immigration. Petition for redress and alteration of the structure of government is permitted through certain established guidelines.

This means that, because rules are divided down to the community level, there is a lot of diversity in the law from one area to the other. Also laws can form fit the population, so that rather than 50% of the population being happy with the law, 75%, 80% or even 90% of the population can be satisfied.

There are certain structural changes which can get the government back on track, however they must be contemplated thoroughly before they are decided on. This is the process of the revolution.

The Humble Physicist,

Your posts are rife with logical contradictions. I know the arguments you are attempting to make, but you're not even making them properly. And you're jumping all over the place. If you have a problem with Austrian capital theory or the calculation problem, then say so - and propose what you would prefer.

You remind me of myself about 5 years ago: all these thoughts running around in my head, yet no structure to control them and attach relevance to each other. And no mechanism to discard contradictory ideas and replace them with new ones.
