The official campaign is asking for volunteers to come to Iowa for GOTV efforts leading up to the caucus, and Concerned American Voters is offering to pay for hotel rooms.

Looks like a pretty cool idea by CAV. It allows the campaign to save on the cost of housing volunteers, but without actually coordinating with them.

Rand Paul Supporters Iowa Hotel Application

This is it. The Iowa caucus is upon us, and Rand Paul can shock the world -- but he needs help from volunteers to organize likely caucus-goers and get out the vote (GOTV).

If you're a committed Rand Paul supporter who plans to volunteer for him from January 25 to February 2, you can apply to stay in one of our FREE hotel rooms in the Des Moines, IA, area. But don't wait -- there's a limited supply, and the deadline to submit your request is THIS THURSDAY at 11:59 PM.

Once in Iowa, it's completely on you to connect with the campaign and coordinate your activity -- we are not communicating with them in any way.

Your hotel room and taxes are paid for by CAV, but you'll have to put your own card down for incidentals at check-in.

Here are the rooming details:

• Check-in: January 25 after 3:00 PM
• Check-out: February 2, 2016 by 11:00 AM
• Cost: FREE
• Hotel: Holiday Inn or similar in the Des Moines area
• Occupants: Up to 4/room
• Details: You'll use your own credit card at check-in for incidentals; you may be placed with 1 to 3 roommates; CAV is not responsible for your personal belongings or lost or stolen items

Please complete this form to apply for FREE room. If you have any questions, email [email protected].

Sounds like a great opportunity for anyone that's able to do it. Anyone here traveling to Iowa to volunteer?

Thanks! I should have posted this, totally forgot! Anyone that can do this, is helping immensely. I will be making more phone calls.

We did this in missouri for our state convention and it worked well - absolutely no connection to the campaign, just filling the needs of people who couldn't afford to go otherwise

So much nonsense that results when you take away people's right to give as much money as they want to a campaign. Nice move by CAV though!

I saw this on Facebook too. I could tell by the comment section that it had a far and diverse reach. I hope they get everyone on board who is able.

If Ron's campaign did this he probably would have won.
