‘Freaking Scary’: Anarchists Hit Washington State Newspaper & Home of Photographer

What's to stop me from levying a fine and if they do not pay, through agencies, I make their life much more complicated?

What do the agencies do? Do they use force against him? If not, that's cool.

I run a private court that levies fines and go through agencies to limit a person's ability to conduct buisiness, I am not initiating force. They are the ones violating the NAP.

Do they use force to extract the fine? If they do and the fine is excessive, they just punished somebody unfairly and excessively and the state could rightly retaliate. Retaliating against excessive punishment does not violate the NAP.

I'm not fighting with those who want to conflate communists with "anarchism".

I've just adopted a new term.

I'm an abolitionist.

I oppose the enslavement of men. I oppose collectivism. I oppose the mafia that pretends to be "government".

I'm a capitalist-- I believe that people are free to trade with each other on mutually beneficial terms.

I believe that one owns their own life, and their own labor, and that to take all or part of it is slavery.

I recognize that slavery is intrinsic to governments, and I want it abolished.

I'm an abolitionist.

How quaint. Did you realize that this is a forum to get a man elected President of the United States?

I really don't think liberty is "quaint". The election of Ron Paul would do a great deal to further the cause of liberty, and even if it doesn't succeed, the campaign spreads awareness of it. Thus, you might benefit from understanding how liberty is difficult, if not impossible in statist societies.

To have liberty, we can't just elect one man. We must change the culture. The government could disappear without a trace tomorrow, but without a culture of liberty, it wouldn't do much good.

What is quaint is your expose about wanting to abolish all government. That is not the platform that Dr. Paul is running on, and it would be really great if you didn't scare the ever loving shit out of Republicans who drop by here to find out what the man whose name on the forum is all about. :)

They never learn do they?

Fat chance, LE. They don't have any interest in electoral politics, other than trying to disrupt them. The best part about real world activism is that they don't show up, and therefore nobody even knows about them.

He has also said quite plainly that his goal is to restore the Constitution.

Yes, and nowhere do I challenge this. However, whenever Dr. Paul is presented with libertarian alternatives to the constitution he seems to openly prefer the alternative, unlike many of the "constitutionalists" on this board.

MHD - "What do you say to people who advocate self-government, rather than a return to the Constitution?"

Ron Paul: "Fine, I think that's really what my goal is."

If you support Dr. Paul and his campaign for the Presidency, you will stop mischaracterizing his position.

I let the good Dr. speak for himself.

Interview said:
ADAM KOKESH: So you've described yourself as a voluntarist. Can you tell us what that means for the big picture, and what your ideal society would be, as a voluntarist?

RON PAUL: Voluntary means no coercion. So if you want to change people's habits or change the world you should do it by setting examples and trying to persuade people to do it. You can use force only when somebody uses force against you. So voluntary use of information and persuading people, I think, is the best way to go; and no matter what kind of problem you're looking at.

ADAM KOKESH: Do you think we have a change of achieving a society based on those ideals in America?

RON PAUL: Not soon. We had a relative voluntary society (you know) in our early history, but steadily, even after the Constitution was passed, steadily it was undermined and it systematically grew, it grew certainly through the 20th century; that is the authoritarian approach, which is the opposite. That is: the government tells us everything we can do and can't do.

This is the result of waaaaay too much self-esteem training in the public schools. If you're here, the only thing we want is for you to support liberty candidates in local elections Other than that, we don't freeaking care what you are or what you want.

Uh huh, Clay, and you know as well as I do, that I can give a page worth's of links when he called for reinstating the Constitution, and/or referred to himself as a Constitutionalist.

A voluntarist does not an anarchist make. And in fact, you also know that Dr. Paul has flatly stated that he is not an anarchist.

So, how about getting behind Dr. Paul's presidential campaign platform and let's get the man elected.

You can post that a million times, Clay. He's still not an anarchist.

I ask you again, will you support Dr. Paul's platform for President of the U.S. and help us get the man elected?

I'm not calling him an anarchist, but its pretty dam clear he is familiar with it and doesn't oppose it.

Firstly, I've Decided, largely thanks to criticism in the past from You and a few others that participating in U.S. Electoral politics is not my place In liberty activism.

I support Dr. Paul in much as he is one of the most effective messengers and activists for liberty ever, but I'm not convinced he, nor anyone else can fix anything by simply "putting on the ring" and wielding the power of the state.

For me, it's all about the message, not the politics.
