Oh, when the public is dumb, Frank absolutely is talented. Successfully rebranding the estate tax as a death tax is a great move. Rebranding global warming as climate change is another great move.

Luntz is probably correct. Paul would've done better in the debates if he had not used "Liberty" as much, but I doubt the difference would've been significant.
Liberty by itself is a fairly meaningless word for many, it's much better when you couple it with other words such as "peronal liberty" or "economic liberty", altough even here "personal freedom" and "economic freedom" would work better.

And, like it or not, the American public buys into the bullshit and he knows that and that's why he knows how to phrase things to get the most positive impact. It's amazing how a simple turn of a phrase can give you a negative or positive view of the subject matter.
