Fox News: Sarah Palin is McCain's VP Choice

I think this choice will attract a lot of those brain-dead white female Oprah fans who had been leaning towards Obama.

I doubt it, you know Oprah now is going to be pimping Obama/Biden any chance she gets.

Good VP pick for McCain and I remember many on this board touting Palin as RP's running mate.

Yeah... I'm really surprised to hear so many nay-sayers because last I checked, she was a big name on the short list for Ron. I love her, personally. She's a bright light in a dark campaign, a whistleblower, a strong woman, mother, an NOT a career Washington bs'er.

Agreed. This was a very political choice. I think picking her had more to do with the fact that she's a young woman than anything. It keeps McCain up to speed with Obama's youth and image of being a political "outsider", it goes against the image of the typical two old white men running for office, and it's a clear stab for Hillary Clinton supporters. I guarantee you this pick had little to do with actual substance.

The choice was soley based on having 67 days left until the election and to get enough votes to win. Substance will not win this election. Picking Palin after the Obama/ Clinton rift is a brilliant political manuever and it will give McCain the win.

As much as I detest the neo-cons, they know how to win elections and maintain power.

AGREED

and if she throws on a bikini I just might toss a mccain shirt on my own damn body.

great move indeed on his part.

McCain's health will prevent him from completing a full term- a vote for McCain is a vote for Palin.

That's what I'm thinking. I just moved back to the "undecided" camp after finally thinking I was settled in the land of "vote for nobody".

I LOVE IT!

I was hoping and praying he would do this, but I never thought he actually would do it though.

It will be very hard now to NOT vote for McCain with Palin on the ticket. I am not saying I will, but it will be very hard not to. My vote still is for Baldwin now. But Palin is a GREAT VP choice for McCain.

I swore all along that I would NOT ever vote for McCain and hoped he loses in a landslide. But after Obama's baby killing videos and his "voluntary servitude" program and now McCain picking Palin (who politically appears the exact opposite of McCain, she is the new Republican guard, the faction I support, IMHO). I mean there is a great chance he steps during his term. I got to say if the election were today I would vote McCain. Barr has been such a horrible candidate and Baldwin has been worst.

BTW as a totally objective observator (which I obviously am not), McCain has run an awesome campaign, this election was Obama's to lose and I think he has done it.

Plus Paul quasi endorsed McCain (not really), but on a clip describing the candidates he said on paper McCain is worst, but presidents tend to do the opposite of their reputation once in office so in reality Obama would probably be the much worst president. I mean Bush ran as a non-interventionist... how'd that work out?

I see mccain dying from a heatattack soon enough anyways BUT do you really see him winning the election?

We have CHANGE to think about people lol.....

The issue for McCain was getting conservatives even remotely excited about voting at all. I believe with Palin as the pick he met that objective, and this will bring along independent minded women voters as well. The majority of the American electorate is still conservative (we do not like change).

I was begging for a choice that would help our country in the longer term and this selection gives me that choice.

^+1. I mean have you heard anything about Obama's speech last night? This pick just a nuclear bomb on Obama's historic speech last night.
