Fox News *loves* Ron Paul

My thoughts are just opposite of your's. I think every single thing they do is scripted. They know *exactly* what they're doing.

There is no doubt that Fox is slanted right and leadership there have been in favor of Bush's policies, but it's virtually impossible that the hundreds or thousands of Fox employees, producers, anchors, cameramen, etc. are running off of a script. These are people we're dealing with after all, not robots.

or maybe the fact taht they saw the Bin Laden video and remembered that they aren't attacking us for being free

My theory is that when they saw the results of the after debate text message poll they realized how much support Ron Paul really has, despite all of their ignoring him and calling him a second tier candidate and saying that he won't win. They realize that there's a very good chance that Ron Paul IS going to win the primaries.

If they were to keep up with ignoring him all the way to the primaries, and then Ron Paul won, Fox would look like absolute fools. They would never be trusted by their viewers again and would lose all their influence over the public, and the public would have a huge awakening.

Fox immediately moved to try to do their best to bring Ron Paul down by putting him up against their top dog, Bill O'Reilly. This interview is very important for Ron Paul. No worries from me though... Ron Paul always shines in one-on-one interviews. My prediction is that O'Reilly will try to make Ron Paul look like a fool, then end up looking like a fool himself. Ron Paul is sharp as a razor, he's honest, he has integrity, he knows his stuff, and everything he says is based on the Constitution; there's no possible argument against him.

Ron Paul will shine, and then get media attention straight through the primaries and then the presidency.

Ok then, show me some video clips of where FOX employees go on long rants about how great Ron Paul is. Surely there's one out there that thinks that way, right? I'm not saying Murdock personally calls everyone to tell him today's agenda, but I do think they have things pretty well planned out, especially on the FOXNews national channel.

You may have nailed it.

FOX are the leading distorters in the media

Why all the hating on Fox News?

Because they are distorters of the truth.

They are a platform for Neo-Conservative propaganda, to deny this is to be out of touch with reality. The only thing they do right is really go after democrats when they deserve it, which other networks tend not to do.

FOX News' smear tactics on Dr Paul in May, where they tried to tie him to the 9/11 Truth Movement was actually made me more interested in him. I don't believe that stuff and I knew he didn't believe that stuff, so why were they going out of their way to paint him as a loony conspiracy theorist? --Because he doesn't tow the party line like a good robot and he thinks for himself. "How dare he vote for the constitution and against the party?!?!"

I would prefer good press to bad, but if bad comes in, I don't mind. That's why in some respect you are correct about FOX's coverage. Just say his name. Keep saying his name. People will start to wonder why you are spending so much time attacking this guy and then go and actually find out what he's about-- just like I did.

Yesterday, they replayed a montage of all his arguement in the NH debate on Hannity and Colmes. Hannity then said that Paul won the debate's text message vote and he did not try to downplay it with "they probably cheated" or anything like that.

Hannity has slammed Paul in the past both on FOX and on his radio show. Just because he didn't do it that one time on the air doesn't make up for his previous distortions and attacks.

We need to quit hating on the main stream media; its not that they are trying to censor Ron Paul, its just that like all television news, they are slow to change--but they are chaning now.

Absolutely not. The mainstream media are part of the problem. ALL media is partisan, their major sin is acting as if they're not. I watch CNN, CBS, FOX, PBS and the BBC which I supplement with the internet. I do this because these people CANNOT be trusted. Getting your information from one source leaves you blind.

Think of having a hole in a fence--You want to see what's behind it, but only have that one hole to look through. Because you only have one viewpoint, what you see is limited. I want as many viewpoints as possible to see as much as possible. That way, I get the whole picture and I can decide for myself. I don't need some talking head on the TV to tell me what to think. Nobody does.

Also, you are correct that they are slow to change, but there also is no question there is an effort by some media types to censor, discredit and smear him.

Public opinion must finally be getting to Hannity & Fox I am certain the mail onslaught after such disinformation must've been through the roof! I know I've done my share of letters to them, as I am certain many if not most here have done, as well.

I am very optimistic about things at this point.

What you're saying makes sense and that probably explains the sudden shift. I expect them to continue to smear him though.

I wonder what Bill is going to come at him with? I will be very surprised if O'Reilly is actually civil.

I guess Hannity decided he ought try to keep his job.

Maybe he read my hypothetical post from yesterday and second guessed himself ;)

yesterday >--------------------->

Hannity goes into their offfice at Fox headquarters the day after Ron Paul wins the nomination.

S H - Hey buddy, whatcha doing?

A C - Cleaning out my desk, what does it look like im doing?

S H - Aw man!!! I cant believe those assholes. When did they tell you?

A C - About 2 hours ago and Ive gotta hurry and meet my wife. Were having a little get together with some friends to celebrate.

S H - Celebrate? You never told me you wanted to quit.

A C - Who said I quit dumbass? THEY PROMOTED ME AND GAVE ME MY OWN SHOW!! YAHOOOOO!!!

S H - Aw man, thats awesome !!!!! But how are you going to find time between your radio show, your family, and Hannity & Colmes to do another show?

A C - Well uh, thats the thing Sean...................... there is no more H & C anymore little buddy.

S H - Huh?

A C - Yeah, they gave me a new office on the top floor all to myself. Yep, no more listening to you snore and drool all over your desk and having to hear you blare your stupid Def Leppard songs through your headphones while im trying to get work done. Finally, some peace and quiet.

S H with his head between his knees grabing his hair with both hands - WTF??? Why did they tell you about YOUR new show and not tell me about mine?

A C - Well, thats the other thing buddy............... I think theyre gonna let you go.

S H - What the hell??? What did I do wrong? I was just following marching orders!!!

A C - Yeah, but you know how it goes my big headed friend. Shit rolls downhill, and I guess the way they see it, since Ron Paul won the Republican nomination, you no longer represent the other side, in fact you dont really represent anything but a small group of neo-conservatives who are going the way of the Dodo bird.

S H - But you disagree with just about everything he says except the war!!!! WTF?? How is THAT fair?

A C - Yeah, but im SUPPOSED to disagree with republicans dummy. Youre not. So to save face, the big guys upstairs decided it would look best for them if they at least acted like you were the bad guy. Like I said before, shit rolls downhill, and you just happened to be the one that got caught with your big mouth wide open at the bottom................ Sorry about your luck man.

S H - Well at least I still have my radio show where I can talk about neo-conservative ideas that are becoming less and less popular with each passing........................................... .......... FUCK!!!!! IM SCREWED!!!!!

knock on the door .....................

A C - hey O'Reilly, whats up?

B O - Well, just taking my stuff down here, I guess this is gonna be my new office now.

A C - HAHA Yeah they gave me your office upstairs. Its a crazy mixed up world aint it?

B O - YEAH............. BLOW ME!!!!!!

S H - But this isnt fair!!!!! They demote you O'Reilly and fire me?????? This isnt fair!!!!

B O - "this isnt fair wha wha wha..... this isnt fair!!!" THATS YOU!!! A WHINY LITTLE BITCH!!! AND YOU WONDER WHY THEY GOT RID OF YA. And in case your wondering, im not a republican. Im an independant for the most part so I got a free pass, well sorta............... this office sucks, but hey at least I get full benefits and my pay only got cut 35%, so I cant bitch too much.

S H - FINE!!!!! Ill just go talk to Rush and he'll give me a job!!!! I can make coffee and light his cigars, and maybe some day when hes taking the day off, he'll let me fill in for him. Ill be back on top in no time.............. YOULL SEE........... JUST WATCH!!!!

A C - yeah whatever Sean............ I gotta go........... see ya tommorow Bill

Fade to black as Sean exits the Fox headquarters building and walks across the street with his box of memories as a Fox employee, as the Midnight Cowboy theme is played in the background.

Something to think about...

I read somewhere that 3.1 million viewers tuned into the debate. If only 10% of them actually voted that would be 310,000. 33% of that voted for Ron Paul. That is 100,000 people that support the guy. Couple that with the actual volume of applause during the debate and you can't double vote, and Fox just realized they need to expand their viewership.

I agree this is pretty much it. Another possibility is Fox may be following the old advice "Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer." They realize that their shrill attacks are not working so they may play nice for a couple of months and be ready to pounce on any mis-step that Paul makes. If they are makeing nice it will make their later attacks look more legitimate to the sheeple.

I'm also in full agreement with Ninja. They are seeing the rising popularity that is sweeping across the U.S. and the world with meetup groups growing everywhere. How do you hide the candidate who gets more money from every branch of the military? You can't keep that hidden forever.

If I were Ron I would get coaching on how to outfox the fox. I have no doubt O'Reilly is going to very aggressively try to trap Ron into saying something very controversial. He's already said adherence to the 2nd Amendment could have prevented 9-11 because people with box cutters would have been afraid to hijack airplanes. It's probably the weakest and most controversial thing he's said and I hope he stops saying this. If guns were allowed on planes then OF COURSE the hijacker would be carrying guns also. His arguement makes no sense, but he is right to say safety on airlines should be the airlines responsiblity - just like a ship or a train.

Thanks for that link.

Will Grigg is right on when he describes Ron Paul as:

http://freedominourtime.blogspot.com/2007/09/ron-paul-this-is-man-take-notes.html#links

A couple of excerpts from the url you cited are worth posting:

"By now it should be obvious even to the most insensate observer that the Republican Party -- with the heroic exception of Ron Paul and a few over whom he's had a healthy influence -- is a fascist cult. Witness Herr Huckabee's invocation of "ein Reich, ein Volk, ein Fuhrer" as a riposte to Paul's irrefutable logic. (The same purported Christian, incidentally, is down with the Mark of the Beast, calling for a human inventory control system to track people like packages.)"

"Think of it: Herr Huckabee's position is that Americans literally have a moral obligation to kill and die on behalf of a mistake: "Honor" requires no less. As an anti-Vietnam War activist in the early 1970s, John Kerry once asked: Who will be the last to die for a mistake? Huckabee's position, shared by the Red State Fascists in the audience and the GOP leadership, is essentially that it is the duty of Americans to kill and die for as long as their rulers decree -- even after the foolishness, corruption, and dishonesty of the policy is obvious.

This is pure, unfiltered cultism of an authentically fascist variety. Clearly, Ron Paul was the only sane man on the stage, which is why his statements were greeted with nervous laughter -- as demented as it was derisive -- by one of the cretinous fiends sharing that platform with him.

He's on the wrong side of the biblical threescore-and-ten, his demeanor is as mild as buttermilk, and his physique is wraith-like, but Ron Paul is a steel-spined ass-kicker with dangling anatomy made of solid brass. He is a man in full."

One can't underestimate Peggy Noonan's column telling people to stop giggling at Ron Paul. I think she's well respected by a fair number of people in the press.

He has said he believes the PILOTS should be armed in the cockpit, or have armed security.

Ron said it is the airline's responsibility. This implies armed security guards onboard and/or armed flight crew.

Ron never talked about arming the passengers directly.

If the airlines had these measures on 911, there is no way those 4 planes would have been taken over.

Boxcutter versus Gun.

mmm

Gun wins.

That Gohler dork misquoted him intentionaly. Thats their game over at Fox............. same thing Cavuto tried to do on the IRS issue, but got schooled by the ends of the segment.
