Fox News clip: Rand and Rubio winners of debate, both will outperform polls

Let's keep that momentum going! Disagree about Rubio, his ground game has been mediocre for way to long... Ads are okay, but you gotta have boots on the ground in this race. I honestly thought this was one of Rubio's worst debate and Jeb outperformed him.

same.. everyone was trying to gloss over his immigration policy problems like they are no big deal cause they are not new.. sorry but that Rand exchange where he said you can't protect the country if you arent for a strong border was probably quite bad for Rubio..

his ground game has been mediocre for way to long....

I was told here yesterday that his ground game is about half of Rands. You're in Iowa I believe, so do you think this sounds accurate or is it worse than that?

rubio has a next to none non existent ground game .. none at the best ..
the only one who has a bigger ground game than rubio's, which is only a fraction of Rand Paul's is bush ..
i just saw a group on fb posting youtubes of how to's for rubio caucus goers .. really sad,
because it shows he has no real hq in Iowa as well .. where all of that should have been done ..
kind of one of those last minute (gotta justify my campaign expenses)
or for those who are coming from out of state kind of thing ..

Not the kind of operation any one who is seriously campaigning, in Iowa would really have .. more of a
'see what i'm doing' to help push the media attention away from what i didn't do thingy ..

remember C-PAC, when walker came in a close second to Rand Paul?

well this time there will be no close second to Rand Paul ..

and yes, you can quote me .. why?

1) did you see any tv or social media news of call centers for rubio? NO

2) did they show anyone else's campaign hq recently? NO

3) not even the brain dead media could keep this news that quite, so no one comes close .. no one

the only way, for anyone other than Rand to win .. they have to literally rig every caucus in Iowa .. and that's not gonna happen .. ;)

The reason Rubio's campaign presence in Iowa is not very big is that the pool of supporters he is competing for are young urban professionals, 30-45 with college degrees, mostly in Des Moines. That pool is about 80K general election voters, maybe 15K-20K of those will caucus, and will be split with Bush. I think he is looking to take the majority of those, and they are hoping for some of the younger college vote to get them top 4. What they really want out of Iowa is press that will help in NH.

Seems that morning and afternoon programming on Fox is much more friendly to Rand. In primetime they ignore Rand and shill for Rubio

This would be a big mistake to believe this. The establishment GOP has a huge presence in every district and they will support whoever they think the party wants them to support. This is why Romney did so well last time around even though, he had pretty much written off Iowa.

Candidates like Paul need to have external organization. Establishment candidates just have to win the favor of the party and the organization is already there waiting for them.

Rubio PACs have probably spent as much in Iowa as Cruz PACs, around 8 figures, 5-10x as much as Rand's PACs spent.

The true consensus, of those who will vote and how they will vote :

1) what kind of job did they wind up with in the last 10 years or will wind up with ..?

2) are they satisfied with said income ..?

3) did they follow snowden and the nsa escapades ..?

4) how many of them wished they did in fact vote for Ron Paul who didn't ..?

5) which candidate has the best economic plan for their future .. ?

6) how many of them want a return to iraq ..?

I can't believe the guy said Rubio was calm! I thought he either needed to pee or had too much caffeine in his system or maybe both...you could almost see him jumping up and down on one leg trying to hold it in...he is very excited about himself...I see him as too young and immature for the office of president...he needs to calm down and mature a bit more.

I've had the news running in the background today. They've only talked about Trump, Cruz, Rubio, Clinton, & Sanders. I think they mentioned Bush & Kasich a couple times.

I agree with you. Rubio has a reputation for being tense. He keeps wearing that blue shirt that muddies out against the bright blue of the set. He is a naturally handsome and photogenic man, but the blue shirt goes gray and makes him look flat and sallow. The collar is too wide. His hair looks like a little boy who just got his back-to-school haircut.

I have been very hard on Rand for his debate looks and performances. This was perfect. He looked crisp and put together, and sounded very relaxed and prepared. He has somehow worked out his delivery so he still sounds Southern, but less whiny and more decisive.

CNN has been rebranded as the Trump Channel. Their latest theory is that because Rubio attacked Cruz during the debate, and no one attacked Trump (because he was not there?), they are conceding the caucus to Trump:

The ton of media that has descended on Iowa is not there for journalism, but just for taking their ongoing talk shows on the road. Real journalism would involve visiting the campaign HQ of the candidates, showing the public how deep the staff was for the separate campaigns, show the caucus locations and visually walkthrough how the process will work at precincts, etc. Not just transfer the cable gabfests to an on location setting.
