What the press is now almost forced to admit is that Newt was never a real candidate ... blow hard book salesman with enough personal and professional baggage to fit in a moving van who would be slaugtered by Obama in the general. This is really scorched earth and it looks bad on Newt, but I think we need him to hang around in the teens for a while as our whipping boy and kinda works really (to use a football term) as a lead blocker for Ron. Newt can be counted on to say and do some really stupid and outlandish things that offer up a lot of red meat for the press that keeps the heat off Ron a bit.

As much as I would like to believe Cavuto got to Wallace, I would say it more has to with commentary coming from the top down. Wallace is an elitist joke. John Stewart handed him his a$$ in their one on one interview on fox this year. It was fun to watch.
