I think we need to have more ads that better explain Pauls foreign policy. One that I think would be effective is to show a graphic of the middle east and show the spending per year on military in those country's we are involve in. Then take one or two and show how many state budgets could have been payed for solely by those expenses. They estimate that Afghanistan has cost us over 2 trillion dollars over the span of the last decade. If you break it down per year (200 billion) that could have funded the entire state budgets of Vermont, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wyoming, Montana, Delaware, New Hampshire, Idaho, Rhode Island, Maine, Hawaii, Alaska, West Virgina, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Arkansas, Utah, Kansas and Mississippi.
In other words close to half the states in the union and thats only Afghanistan. People need to figure out Wars have to be payed for and guess who ends up paying them? Its not those beating the war drums thats for sure. Then the ad needs to compare Pauls national defense budget with that of our next closest competing countries. It would still be more then China, France, UK, Russia, Japan, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Italy, India, Brazil, and South Korea combined. If you take out our close allies of France, UK, and Germany it gets even more ridiculous. And then if theres time show a map of the world with the percentage of US troops in each country compared to the 100% that would be in the US under a Paul presidency to emphasize a strong US defense.
