Foreign Policy Since World War II: Good or Bad?

You expect me to read a paper with a 12,000 word count, from a guy with little credibility? I don't have the time, I've wasted enough here already. You say it is a clear and obvious fact.

And you do realize how absurdly wrong those figures I posted (and he said) were, right?
I EXPECT nothing, if you are happy and satisfied with your self imposed delusions and ignorance, so be it.

There's not really too much that I can do about it. < shrug! >

Your debunking posting example extract was an INTENDED joke! Get it? ;) DUH!!!

Choose the "red pill"!

Maybe Roosevelt wasn't a commie, but he sure fellated the hell out of Uncle Joe like one.

It really doesn't help your position, when you inform a person trying to find out your position, who is asking for facts, that he is merely self-deluded and a sheep to the views of others. That won't convince anyone. Evidence does help, just a little.

And yes, I realize he was being facetious. However, that sort of stupid hyperbole does not give the reader any confidence whatsoever in his thesis or claims. Calm, reasonable, sober, and logical, those traits make good arguments. Words in ALL CAPS, bold, exclamations, hyperbole, facetiousness, do not make up for sound reasoning, which I would be more than happy to read.

Yeah,

But I remember America as a "roll up your sleeves" country.

Where the population had a say.

CAN FUCKING DO.

Now what?

Brainwashed puppies?

Now you "roll up your sleeves."

With military might.

Nice job.

Must you insult all of us with the majority of your posts? You want to despise Americans, fine, but must you constantly remind us that you think we are scum?

Geez. Sean.

Fuck you too.

Cop it sweet propaganda boy.

Are you going to nuke me, big boy?

Take criticism on the chin Sean.

And stop being a Yank drama queen.

I CAN'T convince you. You can only CONVINCE yourself, only IF you care enough to DYODR!

I HAND you the TRUTH, and you merely bitch about the style, packaging and assorted trivia.

Don't kill the messenger, just because you don't LIKE the message!

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" .... but first it will really tick you off.

Ok, I'll take that as a "yes" response to my question.

I'll cop it sweet.

I do push the boundaries Sean.

I do it because I'm dissapointed and angry.

Is a predator drone going to be flying over my country soon?

Are you going to intercept my phone calls in the name of national security?

Are you putting satellites in the sky for my own good?

If our country disagrees with you, will we be on the hit-list?

America is a land of liberty in "Hollywood."

You have sacrificed liberties. The list is endless...

Everyone else is stunned. Please don't hurt us.

And yes... Grow up!

attention whore.

P.S: you'll probably post a dozen replies to this like everything else

Quote from Ron Paul's A Foreign Policy of Freedom, page 24

The U.S. became a major world superpower after WWII. Also, our prosperity has greatly increased since then. Thus, it doesn't look like the interventionist foreign policy started immediately following WWII has been bad for us.

Consider blowback.

But many modern improvements (mobile phones, computers, far better book printing & distribution, etc.) have been invented and developed in the U.S. after WWII.

What opportunity costs can we consider? I think the Internet and technology have improved liberty in many ways. We have lots of Chinese "junk" (though much of it isn't junk) because we choose to buy it. Our food today, I believe, is better than it was pre-WWII. And our toys are more fun (video games, anyone? Wii, Xbox, PS3, DS...)

This part of your argument fails. Japan LOST WWII and is arguably the most technologically advanced nation in the world. After WWII they kept to themselves. Americans have to buy the gadgets from other nations, because we can't build them ourselves. And it is financed through our government deficits and $9 trillion in debt. Whos the world power? 300 million americans DEPEND on the other nations of the world to sustain our way of life. Without them propping up our currency, our entire way of life will collapse in days.

I havejust finished reading RP's Freedom under siege and it tells quite a bit on this subject.

Well, for starters consider what all those dead soldiers might have accomplished in their lives if they had not been sacrificed for one glorious crusade or another. Then you should consider what our nation might have done with our productive energies and enterprise if we hadn't been spending so much of our time building big world vaporizing weapon systems. And playing spy games. And starting coups. It boggles the mind to imagine what we could have accomplished if half of the money spent on ICBMs had instead been invested in something that we could actually use.

You do realize that a lot of the innovations we use in every day life come from the battle field right? So as far as accomplishments goes, it equals out.

There are some really dumb, half blind posts made on this thread...to many to mention.
