Yeaw right. Facebook?Foreign policy MATTERS and when asked about it in a debate RP CAN'T Ignore it. Foriegn policy was always RP's weakness and he should have made short sweet soundbits whenever asked about it and not bumble around trying to educate the world on a hundred years of history in 30 seconds.
I will put the following in all caps lock for my own enjoyment.
NOW IS THE TIME TO ROLL OUT THE FOREIGN POLICY AD!!!!!! WE HAVE TIME TO DO SO NOW AND BE EFFECTIVE WITH IT!!!!!
I agree with everyone in this thread that says we need a FP ad. But we need more than that. Much more. I posted another thread in the campaign suggestions (awaiting moderation) entitled "The Paul Doctrine: Changing Republican Perceptions on Foreign Policy" advocating a major policy speech on FP. He needs to work with a solid speechwriter, promote the speech in the media several days in advance, and in it, lay out his entire FP in detail. Please have a look at that post when it shows up. I'd love to see feedback, but most of all, I'd love to see it implemented. It would be cheap and there are millions of low hanging votes we could pick up. There is no time to waste.
Oh, this is great.
Hold an official speech that details how he truly feels and lays the facts out? And it could coincide with an ad being released.
I literally just posted this in a similar thread...seems relevant here as well:
I just think we need to change the subject. Foreign Policy doesn't even register for most people - it's not a major concern for average Americans. It matters to Neocons, and only Neocons. They are trying DESPERATELY to set the narrative and to make Paul appear weak/unelectable any way they can.
I say we just stick to what matters, the economy, and win this thing.
1. Facebook surveys are completely unscientific and 100% meaningless.
2. Even if people rate foreign policy low, it does not mean it doesn't matter. To explain, I'll use an example. Imagine you are asked, what is more important? The economy or foreign policy? And you say the economy. Now I tell you, there are two candidates. Candidate A has a very solid economic plan, believe in free markets, capitalism, and sound money. But they want to nuke every country on earth. Candidate B advocates a mixed economy with some regulation, fiat money, and moderate social programs. But they don't want to nuke anyone. Now, just because you said the economy is more important in a survey, when presented with the specifics, you're not going to vote for the guy who wants to nuke everyone, no matter how good their economic policy.
THIS IS HOW PEOPLE FEEL ABOUT PAUL, but in reverse. Most republicans in the base don't sit around thinking about FP all the time, and think about their pocket books a lot more, but when it comes down to it, they believe Paul is not just wrong on FP, but fundamentally dangerous. This illusion MUST be dispelled. Just because they don't rate FP their most important issue doesn't mean it's not an absolute deal breaker for a HUGE chunk of the party. It absolutely is. If you've talked to many anti-paul republicans, you know this.
