For the last 5 months I have repeatedly searched "ron paul" sort by date google news...
...articles. Since the Nevada/Maine events transpired, I have noticed that the "Ron Paul can't win!" theme has been replaced by more-or-less slanderous articles. Take right now for example. "Ron Paul's chaos threat", Rand Paul saying Obama's marriage stance couldn't get gayer, and a flood of articles reporting on Mittens baby boy getting booed.
To the uninformed, casual news reader these articles make Paul and his supporters sound like a bunch of brats and sore losers. I am not yet allowed to post links here so I'll just copy and paste an excerpt from Salon's "Ron Paul's chaos threat" article:
Not only does the journalist here deem Paul's influence to be something which is extremely negative to Republicans (nevermind that Paul and his supporters who become delegates ARE registered Republicans), but he also presupposes an inevitable Romney nomination. This is just one example and obviously I am generalizing the overall theme derived from Paul-based articles on a given day. Examiner and Policymic from time to time have some honest journalists who report the story as is, rather than try to spin the story.
Aound Jan-Feb. the media repeatedly insisted Ron Paul was unelectable but overall portrayed his character as a harmless and generally liked crazy uncle who people oftened humored but never took seriously. But since Santorim dropped out and Romney subsequently gave some bs televised pseudo-acceptance speech thereby earning the title of "Presumptive Republican Nominee" (gag me), the tone has shifted. Slowly at first. But once Paul's supporters mobalized and played by the rules to elect pro-Paul delegates etc. at state conventions, the media stopped saying Ron Paul cannot win blhablahblah.
Q
Actually no they still insist he cannot win, but no longer is Paul a crazy uncle who has a place at the family reunion. Now he is cast as a either a sore loser who needs to let Romney focus on Obama (gag me again) or an ineffectual leader who really just wants to help Rand out in the future but in the process is losing control of his followers.
The media bs, all the spin regarding Dr. Paul alone is enough to make me question if any news articles I read have basis in, or even strives to be an objective endeavor at all. Sometimes I wonder why the elites would go to this much trouble to impose their will, seeing as they already have so much whereas the common folk struggle to buy food nowadays.
None of this is new information and purely my observations based on my ocd Google-newsing Dr. Paul, but it seems evidant that the MSM went from smoke and mirrors/kabuki to actually fighting. Fighting, as in fight or flight, the response one has when feeling threatened. And if Paul has no chance, if Romney really had living, breathing human beings voting for him en masse and the vote counts weren't rigged, then why is the MSM saturating the issue with completely bogus, slanderous articles.?They're pulling out every logical fallacy in the book, from Apophasis to straw man arguments.
I have been following Paul's 2012 run so closely that I feel like I have a fairly clear (albiet biased) understanding of what's going on. I could always be wrong (who couldn't) but it seems to me like the only reason the MSM would try so hard to render Paul illegitimate is because...
WE ARE WINNING THE STRUGGLE FOR AMERICA'S SOUL!!! Ron Paul is the personification of what we were taught about America. People have become so cynical about America and our progression and understandably so (why the **** are kids younger than me dying in Afghanistan still today?!!!!) but for the first time since I realized liberty is not given but earned, I have found a way to restore my fairy tale view of America, land of the free. Amazingly, unseen forces are pushing back hard against our citizens' cries for freedom. In 1776 it was the British, today idk who it is but what I do know is they are scared to death of Ron Paul. As a patriot, father, American citizen, and citizen of the world, I have no choice but to do all I can and more to support the Ron Paul Revolution. I couldn't forgive myself if I sit back and let our last hope of preserving what our elders paid so dearly to give to us pass by unrequitted. I cannot let my 2 yr old daughter grow up in a place that has seemingly lost itself over the last decade.
I am only 23 so most of my civic awareness has emerged post 9/11 , and when juxtaposed with what I learned in history class prior to 9/11 all I can do is look up how to become a delegate to the Arkansas GOP convention and personally put all of myself into this cause. This is how we win and make a safe home for our children.
God bless you Dr. Paul for giving a voice to our generation.

Under the extreme worst-case scenario for Republicans, Paul supporters end up with a giant share of the delegate slots (a quarter of them, say) and launch a four-day heckle-fast, bitterly resist any effort to quiet them or evict them from the hall...
