For the last 5 months I have repeatedly searched "ron paul" sort by date google news...

...articles. Since the Nevada/Maine events transpired, I have noticed that the "Ron Paul can't win!" theme has been replaced by more-or-less slanderous articles. Take right now for example. "Ron Paul's chaos threat", Rand Paul saying Obama's marriage stance couldn't get gayer, and a flood of articles reporting on Mittens baby boy getting booed.

To the uninformed, casual news reader these articles make Paul and his supporters sound like a bunch of brats and sore losers. I am not yet allowed to post links here so I'll just copy and paste an excerpt from Salon's "Ron Paul's chaos threat" article:
Under the extreme worst-case scenario for Republicans, Paul supporters end up with a giant share of the delegate slots (a quarter of them, say) and launch a four-day heckle-fast, bitterly resist any effort to quiet them or evict them from the hall...

Not only does the journalist here deem Paul's influence to be something which is extremely negative to Republicans (nevermind that Paul and his supporters who become delegates ARE registered Republicans), but he also presupposes an inevitable Romney nomination. This is just one example and obviously I am generalizing the overall theme derived from Paul-based articles on a given day. Examiner and Policymic from time to time have some honest journalists who report the story as is, rather than try to spin the story.

Aound Jan-Feb. the media repeatedly insisted Ron Paul was unelectable but overall portrayed his character as a harmless and generally liked crazy uncle who people oftened humored but never took seriously. But since Santorim dropped out and Romney subsequently gave some bs televised pseudo-acceptance speech thereby earning the title of "Presumptive Republican Nominee" (gag me), the tone has shifted. Slowly at first. But once Paul's supporters mobalized and played by the rules to elect pro-Paul delegates etc. at state conventions, the media stopped saying Ron Paul cannot win blhablahblah.
Q
Actually no they still insist he cannot win, but no longer is Paul a crazy uncle who has a place at the family reunion. Now he is cast as a either a sore loser who needs to let Romney focus on Obama (gag me again) or an ineffectual leader who really just wants to help Rand out in the future but in the process is losing control of his followers.

The media bs, all the spin regarding Dr. Paul alone is enough to make me question if any news articles I read have basis in, or even strives to be an objective endeavor at all. Sometimes I wonder why the elites would go to this much trouble to impose their will, seeing as they already have so much whereas the common folk struggle to buy food nowadays.

None of this is new information and purely my observations based on my ocd Google-newsing Dr. Paul, but it seems evidant that the MSM went from smoke and mirrors/kabuki to actually fighting. Fighting, as in fight or flight, the response one has when feeling threatened. And if Paul has no chance, if Romney really had living, breathing human beings voting for him en masse and the vote counts weren't rigged, then why is the MSM saturating the issue with completely bogus, slanderous articles.?They're pulling out every logical fallacy in the book, from Apophasis to straw man arguments.
I have been following Paul's 2012 run so closely that I feel like I have a fairly clear (albiet biased) understanding of what's going on. I could always be wrong (who couldn't) but it seems to me like the only reason the MSM would try so hard to render Paul illegitimate is because...

WE ARE WINNING THE STRUGGLE FOR AMERICA'S SOUL!!! Ron Paul is the personification of what we were taught about America. People have become so cynical about America and our progression and understandably so (why the **** are kids younger than me dying in Afghanistan still today?!!!!) but for the first time since I realized liberty is not given but earned, I have found a way to restore my fairy tale view of America, land of the free. Amazingly, unseen forces are pushing back hard against our citizens' cries for freedom. In 1776 it was the British, today idk who it is but what I do know is they are scared to death of Ron Paul. As a patriot, father, American citizen, and citizen of the world, I have no choice but to do all I can and more to support the Ron Paul Revolution. I couldn't forgive myself if I sit back and let our last hope of preserving what our elders paid so dearly to give to us pass by unrequitted. I cannot let my 2 yr old daughter grow up in a place that has seemingly lost itself over the last decade.

I am only 23 so most of my civic awareness has emerged post 9/11 , and when juxtaposed with what I learned in history class prior to 9/11 all I can do is look up how to become a delegate to the Arkansas GOP convention and personally put all of myself into this cause. This is how we win and make a safe home for our children.
God bless you Dr. Paul for giving a voice to our generation.

Yup.

I lurked at Mitt Romney forums when people were passing the link around yesterday, and they had a program where if someone typed 'Ron Paul' it came up 'Captain America'. I actually kind of liked it. Mind you, they may change it after yesterday....

but yes, Ron speaks of there being a 'remnant' not just in the religious sense more people are used to, but in a political sense, a remnant that still believes in, truly understands and would fight for the Constitution and American traditions. And he does indeed seem to me to be pretty close to the personification of what we were taught about America, before the books started getting cynical, at least in the role he serves for us.

Welcome to the forums!

Chills down my spine reading this.... You nailed it on the head about Ron Paul being the personification of what we were taught about America. It is easy to get discouraged at all the corruption around us and become disillusioned. Ron Paul is the America I was taught, the one that inspires us today, and the one I believe in again. Incredible post. I'd +rep you if I wasn't so new here myself.

I covered you.

Thanks sailingaway! I read this post from wofemcbane out loud to my wife, who is finishing her doctorate in educational leadership this summer. Her faith (and mine) in this country and the education system is being reawakened and restored.

Welcome wolfemcbane,

At the same time some of us became discouraged with the Main Stream Media's coverage others have really stepped up to the plate. Now instead of grasping for a little biased reporting from here and there we are getting some awesome coverage from some of Ron Paul hero's.

Case in point; If you get a chance check this out Published on May 7, 2012 by nuiflower.

Other reports by other hero's are cover things like conventions and Ron Paul rallies from beginning to end.

I hope you keep up your research. Trend change can be very interesting. I used to follow several topics on Google to make use of the comment sections in the online papers.

Anyway. Once again welcome, wolfemcbane.

+Rep and welcome.

This may interest you. Take a look here and see if you find the info odd.

Rasmussen Reports 5/12 - 5/12 1000 LV Obama 47 Paul 41 Obama +6

Rasmussen has been doing the Paul vs Obama poll religiously for two weeks on a 2 day score.
It's 500 a day for 1000 LV

Romney gets a three day rolling score everyday with 1500 LV

Rons average goes back two months and he had been doing very well this past week. Tied Obama again on Friday.

Romneys average is base on about two weeks. Currently Obama +2

Anyway as you see above, Rasmussen's saturday poll is one day and 1000 LV released one day after a tie.

I think Rasmussen is putting the fix in so Ron average is worse:mad:. It all seems to odd to be right.

Welcome!

You should know that the media is the greatest tool of the establishment, and so, as long as there is media, it will continue so. We must accept the possibility that we will NEVER get a fair ride with the mainstream cabal currently in power.

But where we lack in tools, we make up for in faith and determination.

If this delegate process continues as it has, prepare to hear about newsletters again and the mainstream media labelling his supporters dangerous and deluded. We will be numbered with the transgressors, just as our Lord was. We will be persecuted and attacked, indeed already punches have been thrown while we followed the rules peacefully and in openness and fairness. Passionately, yes, of course. Our futures are at stake! But in fairness and in truth. And I applaud the Ron Paul delegates who behaved respectfully and abided to the law and parliamentary procedure. And I pray this continues so, that we win the heart of the GOP as we enter into Tampa. And we will be under the scrutiny of the mainstream media, and by that, maybe millions of their viewers too will have a negative judgment and opininon of us in the Ron Paul Movement. Every little misstep will be televised while every great victory will be ignored.

Because of this scrutiny, the only way we win is if we abide in the truth and within the rule of law, and having Ron Paul as a teacher in humble obedience and saintly fidelity to the Constitution of this nation, we emulate him and learn from him, with courage and faith in the promises of God.

Awesome 1st Post!! Welcome to the Forum. Where have you been and what brought you here now?

I have been lurking these forums since I discovered them around March and depending on this board for the real scoop. In 2008 all I knew was I didn't want any more Bush so I voted Obama but when Obama stopped caring about Afghanistan and had closed door meetings for the healthcare law, allowed medical marijuana dispenseries to still be raided, pretended he never promised unprecedented transparency, said it was cool to kill our citizens with drones, and most soberingly reacted to the wikileaks situation (which I thought made Assanage a sort of hero-- not bc of the alleged risks of danger it supposedly put some people in but because we the people should know what our govt. of for and by the people knows in a vast majority of situations) by indefinitely detaining Manning and ruining Assanage's life forever. Some transparency. (Sorry for the run on sentence :/ )
So I became disillusioned with politics but didn't like the fed seeing as if a private instution controls our wealth then how are we free at all (BAILOUT$$$$$$$) and understood that unfathomable debt would create such a scary future for my baby. Then i remembered watching a Ron Paul video on YouTube and agreeing with his arguments on gold and although I cannot remember the most of the context, he was just spitting truth and ranting about what needed to be ranted about and I thought he was awesome. So then when this primary season started I noticed Paul and more importantly the other candidates and Paul started to seem like a sort of Zen, humble, substance rather than flash kind of guy when compared to oh God why are all the other frontrunners caricatures of outdated stereotypes and who could stomach them at this point?

I signed up today because I almost lost hope when Paul lost evey popularity contest, not realizing there was more than just vote totals winner take all, figuring even if Paul had 99% of the votes Romney would still be projected the winner, and then evangelicals literally booing the golden rule. Looked grim, UNTIL SOME TRUE AMERICAN HEROES SHOWED UP AT THE CONVENTIONS IN HOSTILE AWKWARD NOT FUN CIRCUMSTANCES AND INSPIRED THE **** OUT OF ME <3 you brave people and so im here to figure out how to be a delegate for Arkansas if anybody can give me the crash course(if not l just Google it...)

+rep for a great 1st post. Welcome to the forums.

Thanks :) I would quote you all who welcomed me but idk how to quote more than one at a time. But you guys really made me feel welcome (I was worried after seeing the be nice to new people sticky):p thanks for your nice words though everybody

Thanks for this!! I've never watched a rally or convention but I have read a ton about them and they're just so dramatic I'm excited to check this out. Speaking of comment sections, it is impossible to describe how good it feels seeing a trash article about Paul followed by a floodgate of comments putting the bs in check. Honestly I'm kind of shocked there hasn't been some secret mandate to covertly start removing comment sections from articles , as much of a platform it gives to public perception and therefore people vs. media

I love the way you write!

I'm not from Arkansas but there is a thread stickied to the top of the forum, and greenpapers has the basic delegate info (I'll get them in a sec), and there are Roberts Rules of Procedure threads around here, but what we really need to do is hook you up with a meetup in Arkansas or with groups there.

I'll be back.

Probably not the 'best' answer, but here's someone you may try contacting and going from there. I got this info from Ron's official site.

ABOUT your state
ARKANSAS

Thanks for your interest in volunteering for Ron Paul’s campaign in Arkansas! Click the Volunteer button below and tell us about yourself or contact the person below.

State Director: Monica Serrano – [email protected] – 501-772-0855

I realize it's about volunteering and that's not exactly your question, but it is a contact person that maybe could direct you more specifically. There are also state sub-forums here you could check.

Welcome to the forum!!

lol! That could be a picture of anyone, but it's ok. he means you sound too good to be true.

Arkansas (primary) Proportional 15% Threshold, if >50% Winner Take Most (36)

here is basic Arkansas background on how delegates are chosen: http://www.thegreenpapers.com/P12/AR-R

it looks like you may have missed a deadline but sometimes if people don't show up it is possible to be credentialed at another stage, you will have to find out from people there:

Monday 23 April - Friday 11 May 2012: Each county holds a Special Meeting of the County Convention to elect delegates to the Special District Conventions. The Special Meeting is attended by qualified voters from that county who filed to be a Special Meeting delegate. The qualifying period is from 23 February to 1 March 2012.

Voting members of the State Committee, who will elect the National Convention At-Large Delegates, cannot be delegates to the Special District Convention.
There is no formal system applied in the Special Meetings to relate the presidential preference of the participants to the choice of the meeting's delegates.

here is the official AR webpage: http://www.arronpaul2012.com/

and here is an unofficial one where you can communicate with supporters: http://www.facebook.com/RP2012AR

and we have a subforum for Arkansas you can go to but it isn't being used much at the moment, which does not mean nothing is going on. But you can get names of other users from that forum who are in AR and you can pm them if you can't make contact otherwise.
