For the Fist time: Washington Post Front Runner Status

Wow, cool!

Please break the link and ask people to copy and paste it into a new browser, though!

EDIT: Ick. This last line is horrible, though. He might as well have not mentioned him at all: "Can Paul win? No. Can he impact the race? Yes."

Rudy and Mitt will be duking it out to the very end. I think SC is Rudy's only chance while Mitt must show well in NH. I hope Ron Paul blows them out of the water and takes first in both states.:) Am I being overly optimistic?

I don't think Huckabee has done that much but take a little from the front runners and then all of Brownback's supporters. That's a neat trick, but his impact is being overblown.

This is about the time they'll start pushing McCain again, and there's plenty of recent bits about how he deserves another look. I doubt this will work any better than it did for Fred Thompson. If McCain had managed his campaign better, he wouldn't need to beg for more attention.

I think Ron Paul has a real shot. Maybe his campaign is about to dazzle us with a winning streak through the early states. Then WV on Feb 5 would stun the world!

I hate when people say, "Can he win? No." or "He's not going to win." Or any other variation of that.

It's a long road, but you NEVER count someone out. It's like going to a horse race and saying, "Horse 5 is not going to win." and you're only at the starting gate.

It's because the real people that run this country, Exxon and Mobil Oil, also own all the major networks and the mass media and they know the people ALWAYS do what they tell them and everyday they are telling them not to vote for Ron Paul.

It's a hell of a thing we are all up against. I'm not sure we can even get a fair election.

Can Paul win? No. Can he impact the race? Yes.

I guess TPTB think we'll eventually start believing this and just quit supporting Dr. Paul, and discourage the rest from even considering him.

sorry to go a bit off topic (and on a thread I started) but...

why the broken links at all? I see them everywhere. If people want to open a new window or tab - that should be their prerogative.

Because if you click on a link, it forwards the referring page's URL to the server. It's bad for polls [shows collusion], but ok for shared links and news stories.

the "break the link" is a conspiracy by the war mongering neo-cons to keep the race between hillary and guiliani

Ron Paul's powerful enemies know how the average guy's mind works. Just have a bunch of people in positions of perceived intellectual authority to repeat the same opinion, or lie passed off as fact, and it won't be too long before he completely accepts it as indisputable truth.

It's a crime that introductory college logical reasoning courses aren't a mandatory part of the high school curriculum. People can't even spot the most basic logical fallacies, and so baseless propaganda infests the media and beyond...

Hellzzzzzz no, you're not wrong for being optimistic. 700,000 Independents in Iowa, 1/4 of their population, are recieving hand-written letters talking about Ron Paul. This is a state in which 58% percent of their Republicans want troops home within six months, so you can imagine how receptive their Independents will be. And 'experts' expect only 100,000 people to show up. We're soooo winning Iowa. Soon, the issue will be how the media plays it (I think they'll play it well, with the exception of Fox).

EDIT: And we're gonna win Iowa with five days before New Hampshire! Five days for people to talk about it, five days to get the word about it. Guys, stop letting the emotional magnitude of this make you think you're being too optimistic! We're gonna win this!

I like how they bumped Thompson out of the top, imo he's more likely to win than McCain. (But all are distant to Ron)

McCain always starts off strong but then just loses momentum very fast.
