That's right. There's a first time for everything. In 2008 I voted for Constitution Party Chuck Baldwin, whom Ron Paul endorsed. So Chuck most likely got Ron Paul's vote as well as mine. In 2012 I voted for Constitution Party candidate Virgil Goode based on the strength of Chuck Baldwin. (I found out later that he Goode wasn't as non-interventionist as I'd like). I was planning on voting for Daryl Castle until just a few minutes ago. I know some don't like him over gay adoption. (Not an issue for me. Even people like Cookie Roberts who are for gay adoption will admit, when pressed, that the social science shows that children do better with an actual mother and father.) And there's the death penalty. But I consider that a state issue. On everything else I support Castle. So....why didn't I vote for him? BECAUSE HE WASN'T ON THE FREAKING BALLOT!
This is what I was faced with.
Donald Trump and Mike Pence
"Rocky". (I'm serious. Someone named "Rocky" got on the ballot)
Gary Johnson and Bill Weld (No way I could vote for that ticket after hearing Bill Weld today defending Hillary Clinton over the latest FBI probe.)
Jill Stein and some other socialist
Hillary Clinton and dufus
So.....I wrote in Ron Paul. I thought seriously about voting for Trump since I couldn't vote for Castle. But then I remembered "Hell....Trump's going to win my state anyway." I also remembered Trump's endorsement of Rudy Ghouliani's unconstitutional stop and frisk program. (Violation of 2nd and 4th amendment rights and did nothing to curb violent crime.)
So there ya go. After two election cycles of deriding those who writing in Ron Paul as throwing away their votes, because the write in vote will not even be mentioned, I wrote in Ron Paul. I hope in 2020 Rand Paul will win the nomination. Absent that I hope enough of us get involved in the libertarian party to prevent them from doing something so utterly stupid again as nominating Gary "let em eat Jewish/Nazi wedding cake" Johnson. And I will work to get the constitution party on the ballot.

Meh...who am I kidding. We're not going to have a country by 2020.
