I think this is illegal. Even when you donate at the Ron Paul website it specifically asks if this is what you are doing, I think. I would not recommend this until you know for sure it is legal.

Plus, our opponents aren't playing fair. Large corporates do it all the time. They give extra bonuses to their employees with a silent understanding that they'll support the company's chosen candidate. As long as you give the money as a gift.

There is nothing dirty about this. Ron Paul doesn't take campaign matching funds, he doesn't take money from lobbyists, all he gets is money from us. And we are supposed to stop just cuz we hit 2300 because McCain and his bs laws say so?

If your maxed out just donate to some grassroots cause or a PAC like www.operationbroadcastfreedom.com. Remember WWRPD what would Ron Paul do? If we give in to temptation and allows ourselves to become corrupt or play the dirty tricks that are now common how are we any better.

Speaking of donations and limits, I think this is a good thread to post my question.
Anyone know, if purchases from Ron Paul campaign web-site (hats, shirts, buttons,
signs etc.) count towards the $2300 limit?

I ask because when purchasing merchandise from that site last year, they required
me to confirm that I was a Citizen of the US, at least 18 years old, etc etc.
