Ah yes, my notorious support for government spending.
Texas Sheriff Javier Salazar on Thursday certified that the group of migrants flown to Martha’s Vineyard, Mass., last month by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) were victims of a crime, qualifying them to obtain a visa.
Salazar, the Bexar County sheriff, submitted certification documents that will allow the nearly 50 migrants to apply for U visas, which grant crime victims nonimmigrant status in the U.S. to ensure that they are available as witnesses during investigations or trials.
My guess is DeSantis was put on notice. If not, why not land a plane load several times a day right back into Martha's Vineyard.
It backfired on him so he backed off
Ya sure ok
I don't know if it backfired on him. But I do think that if he kept doing sending more planes to the same place whatever political benefit he gained from it the first time would turn into a net loss.

"They were even registered to vote in registration drives conducted by election officials."

Sending them to Slow Joe's state next.
If there is a God that works in this world, it'll be your back yard.
Florida governor Ron DeSantis will fly migrants to Illinois and Delaware

The Republican governor of Florida, Ron DeSantis, plans to continue flying undocumented migrants to Democratic strongholds, his spokeswoman said on Saturday, a day after released records showed the state paid nearly $1m to arrange two sets of flights to Delaware and Illinois.
Documents released on Friday showed that the planned flights will transport about 100 migrants. They were scheduled for before 3 October but were halted or postponed. The contractor hired by Florida extended the window for the trips until 1 December, according to memos released by the state transportation department.
Asked why the flights were postponed, DeSantis’s communications director, Taryn Fenske, said Florida had been busy dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Ian.
“While Florida has had all hands on deck responding to our catastrophic hurricane, the immigration relocation program remains active,“ Fenske said.
The flights would be a follow-up to 14 September flights from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts, that carried 49 mostly Venezuelan migrants to the island where the former president Barack Obama owns a home. Local officials were not told in advance that the migrants were coming.
DeSantis claimed responsibility for the flights as part of a campaign to focus attention on what he has called the Biden administration’s failed border policies. He was joining the Republican Texas governor, Greg Abbott, in sending migrants to Democratic strongholds without advance warning.

The Trump administration is looking for a private contractor to move the dramatically increasing number of children detained at the US border with Mexico to shelters across the country.
US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) says it needs a “highly responsible” company to accompany tens of thousands of juvenile asylum seekers and families to the shelters every year, according to a newly issued federal procurement document reviewed by Quartz.
A draft solicitation dated May 13 seeks “on-demand escort services for non-criminal/non-delinquent UAC and FAMUs ranging from infants to 17 years of age and adults with a family, seven (7) days a week, 365 days a year.” (In US immigration terminology, “UACs” are “unaccompanied children,” and “FAMUs” are “family units.”)
The winning bidder will arrange commercial airline and bus trips for roughly 60,000 people per year, the document says. Over the course of a five-year contract, the contractor will transport an estimated 225,000 unaccompanied children from “infants to 17 years of age,” as well as adults with families, and will be responsible for everything from buying plane tickets to supplying food, clothing, and procuring healthcare while in transit.

Where The Money Came From To Fly Migrants

As part of this year's roughly $109.9 billion state budget – which had bipartisan support – the legislature allocated $12 million "to facilitate the transport of unauthorized aliens out of Florida."
"We're going to spend every penny of that", DeSantis said at Friday's press conference. Public records show the state paid a private contractor, Vertol Systems Inc., an aircraft solutions provider, $615,000 to transport the migrants to Martha's Vineyard. That's $12,300 per migrant.

Is the "revolving door" making any sense now? Dem/Repub, Public/Private partnerships, fulfill mandatory-head-counts only to expand and build bigger? While the sheep beg and scream to take more dollars and DESTROY our very BoR?
It's not immigrants doing that, it's the stoopid people who keep voting and funding "their" side to enrich the M(ilitary)IC and P(rison)IC. Which furthers the UN/WEF goal - "you will own nothing and be happy" and "conditioned to eat synthetic meat", as Private Property is taken and Bill Gates continues to buy up farm land. Oh, and subsidize farmers not to grow so that we have empty shelves and $5/lb chicken wings.

All of that is precisely why the fedgov will never do it's duty as demanded by the constitution.
Why it will never stop the handouts.
Why the "free market" wing of the ruling class is in favor of it.
Cheap labor for Juan to play the Mexican bagpipes in their yards, and profits from the prison industrial complex.
My solution would require no eminent land takings, would require no extra spending, in fact would save money, and would end the invasion in a week.
But the system wants the invasion, so that will never happen.
And by refusing to call it what it is, by failing to recognize the threat and what is happening, that makes you a tool of the system, complicit in its actions and a de facto supporter of their plans.

I didn't want this to get missed:
Pretty pricey airline tickets, even given inflation.
