A real conservative says, just don't do it at all.
Admittedly, those who say the federal government does have a role to play at the border may well have a point. At least, it's arguable. But this pattern pops up far, far beyond the border, or any other place a true believer in the Ninth and Tenth Amendments would say D.C. has a role to play.
No wonder American Conservatism conserves nothing.
Ron Paul said it to me in person in 2007, in NH: "I support bringing the troops home and doing their duty protecting our border".
He campaigned on that position in 2008 and 2012.
I supported him, in part, because of that position.
I've maintained all along that this is an invasion, well planned, well funded and well executed by our enemies, foreign and domestic.
It is an invasion using 5th Gen warfare tactics, using bodies instead of bullets and bombs.
The constitution clearly states it is the duty of the fedgov to protect the states from invasion, Article IV Section 4.
It is one of the few limited responsibilities the fedgov has, and it is failing miserably, on purpose.
If they did their duty and stopped it AT the border, there would be no need for a "Constitution Free Zone" 100 miles away from the border.
