Flawlessly planned - AUDIT THE FED vote two weeks before IA caucus

Well the warning signs are certainly there, with the oil and junk bond market already crashing like they did before the 2008 crisis. I think we're in a big bubble but if so will it burst before or after the nomination process?

If before, it'll helps Rand; people will be more likely to listen to his "kooky" ideas when the world's falling apart.

If after, and Rand's not the nominee, then it'll be New Deal redux; God save us...

I am all for this.....but....to the average American voter is this a passionate topic for them? One that will get them to vote and vote for Rand. The good thing is it does not alienate anyone except people who will not vote for Rand..

Thats not the point. There are specific issues that rile up the "base". FED and NSA are one of the bigger issues the liberty movement gets excited about. It has nothing to do with the general low info voter public.

You have to see these tactics for exactly what they are. If you don't think the general public would be passionate about this issues, why would political operatives that have been doing this for decades think any differently?

I also have been paying attention for decades and I see many other hot button issues that would work. I have seen this fail to get masses fired up in the past and don't see it happening any differently this time. Is this a topic that makes voters switch and vote for you? Is this going to a topic that independent voter will be swayed by? WHT topics are in the news right now and often? Everything needs a high passion rating now.

This topic has tremendous potential, but the campaign would have to emphasize it in a big way, to bring it to the attention of the average voter.

...it might be that their limited press opportunities are better spent on other issues.

This will mobilize some people... remember, in an election, especially this one, it will likely be decided within a few percentage points. Remember the result of the Iowa Straw Poll on caucus night in 2011? The spread was less than 4% or a few thousand caucus goers.

If Rand can get himself in the ballpark and mobilize a few thousand people on each issue (guns, life, unions, taxes/spending, obamacare, common core, etc) then all of the sudden he is the likely victor.

And regardless of the Presidential race there are indeed longterm benefits... getting each Senator on record about an audit is great because it means we now know who needs pressure in the next election. We can make it an issue in upcoming elections which means that it stands a better chance of passing in the future.

O.K. This is good. We know that it is coming up. We know it is important. The trick is to saturate social media with WHY it is important.

Should a thread be started in the Activism forum or the Economics forum?

What can we here do? How do we approach it and how do we do this within the next 2 weeks? Memes, etc. It doesn't really have to be Rand specific. It just has to target the Fed. Reserve. If awareness is raised, when the actual bill is brought up then Rand will get the publicity.

Perhaps this would be a good one to get on the ground in states with Senators that aren't on board yet. An idea that comes to mind is perhaps doing a cheap run through VistaPrint of some business cards that briefly describe the bill and the number/address to reach their specific Senator. Might be worth it and would be cheap to run 500-1000 business cards.

Litter the states with them the next two weeks. :)

P.S. If the idea is interesting, I'd be willing to spend a few days before Christmas designing cards for every state and their Senators with some help from the forums.

Have you heard of targeted messaging? In every election, no matter what, you go after the low hanging fruit first. Rand is doing that with this audit the fed push. Not every message needs to or can be tailored to hit every demographic.
