The "In Depth" page of Sunday's St. Augustine Record (NE Florida Newspaper) has a full page "Look at The Candidates" section.

Those candidates include: Hillary, Edwards, Obama, Giuliani, Huckabee, McCain, and Romney. NOT one mention of Ron Paul anywhere! Please help me by contacting them and letting them know that we need fair media attention.

A St. Johns County Ron Paul Meetup Group member had a somewhat lengthy conversation with Peter Ellis, editor of the Record. He claimed he was not on duty this weekend so he doesn't know why Dr. Paul was excluded but, "you and I know he is not a viable candidate. He's not going to win."

His (Peter Ellis, Editor) personal line is (904) 819-3517.

Please call or email the paper to complain:

Someone else just called and the guy is mad and called it harassment. He said Ron Paul is running as an issues candidate, he's not going to win, you know it, I know it, everybody knows it.

good keep calling and writing him. What! an issues guy!! No, not those horrible issues. You mean he is not a cult of personality???

Issues guy

I was the one he said that to. He said Ron Paul is running on issues with no intention of winning but just to get people to side with him on issues. jazzloversinc

I just sent him the following e-mail, but received a message back saying that it was "Deleted without being Read"!

Mr. Ellis,

As a Northeast Florida unpaid grassroots volunteer for Ron Paul since May of last year I am thoroughly disgusted with the fact that Presidential Candidate Ron Paul was left out of Sunday’s “Look at the Candidate’s” section on page 10A.

What possible explanation is there for omitting a candidate who raised more money last quarter and has a more diverse and more enthusiastic grassroots base than any other GOP candidate? What possible explanation is there for omitting a candidate who has received more support from the military than any other candidate (Republican or Democrat)?

Is this censorship or laziness or a combination of both?

Have you as the Editor decided BEFORE THE ELECTION which candidates readers need to learn about and which ones they don’t?

I’m a lifelong conservative and it has been confusing to me why Ron Paul is not running away with this nomination. However the more this campaign exposes the mainstream media for the bias gatekeepers they are – the less confused I am.

Dear sir:
I was on vacation at the end of last week and had nothing to do with leaving Ron Paul out.
Here’s what the editor in charge while I was gone told me: Associated Press, which provided the information, did not include Dr. Paul, and our layout editor did not request information on Dr. Paul, which he should have.
As you know, Dr. Paul is a movement candidate — his goal is to move the party closer to his opinion. In that regard, he is winning because, except for Iraq, many of the GOP candidates are assuming positions that sound similar to his.

The St. Petersburg times/tampa trib both do the same thing.

Unfortunately the same people who own the tv media that ignores us also owns the big print media as well, FL coverage of Ron has been especially bad IMO. The 1 st pete times article on paul I've ever seen was a straight up hit piece calling him kooky ect.

You should have said..Whaddya think this is, a FOOTBALL GAME??? A Horse Race? You, as a journalist should certainly not be trying to pick a winner after a few primaries which RP came in SECOND in two of them! Personally, a lot of people are going to vote for him and it is in the public interest for you to report on him.

Then I wonder what he would say?..makes me want to call him..grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I talked to a friend who lives in St. Augustine. I asked if she heard of Ron Paul she said no she never heard of him. So the message is not getting out. She was leaning to Rudy so I begged her to checkout Ron Paul on youtube and Ron's website.

Here is what I sent him: "Sir, if you are not a fan of free and fair elections, I would suggest moving to Siberia where your philosophy is more closely adopted."
