First Time Voters: Are you ready for Jury Duty after the election?

registering to vote doesn't get you jury duty... the selection of who gets picked is done by drivers liscence number not voter registration

Jury duty is easy enough to get out of, if need be.

Honestly, showing up in a Ron Paul shirt would probably be enough for most lawyers to dismiss you.

Every Ron Paul person should beg borrow and steal to get selected for a jury.

No where will you have more power to make a case against unjust laws and the loss of freedom we all complain about.

Tax case, non violent drug possession, "technical" gun law case, just to name a few: you hang that jury to judgment trump if need be. Argue for acquittal but hang that damn jury if you can't.

Watch 12 Angry Men before you do.

+ a googolplex.

You're going to try sway the case aren't you... ;)

Convince all the other jurors.. how to lay it down... :D
I don't know. Wouldn't know til the case was presented. I have been told I am persuasive, though. Or at least highly opinionated and vocal about my opinion :D

I will never sit on a jury. I would love to, but I am far too influential of a person...
Wow! I had no idea you were far too influential of a person! And here I am, little old me, and I'm conversing with you! The wonders of technology! :p

California uses both- and you can theoretically get called off both lists in the same year although it has been at least a couple of years since I was called.

Imagine a jury of nothing but RP supporters :D

That would be the longest deliberation ever. With calls for moderators to ban the other half of the jury all day long.

Try and get two RP supporters to agree on something... twelve would be a mess.

Challenge the law? Hung jury? Perfect! I want to be the defendant in that trial.

Yep, voter registration puts you on their list...

Get detailed info here. http://www.fija.org/

Hmm, it looks like you will have to settle for a bumper sticker assortment instead of the T-shirt.

If you tell 'em you KNOW YOUR POWER AS A JUROR, HAVE THE TIME TO SPARE, and REALLY WANT TO SERVE on jury duty (and/or know about FIJA), they will either throw you right into jail or more likely, they will politely ask you to leave the courtroom (you get off jury duty)!

As a registered Libertarian no wonder I never served. I can't be trusted to punish drug dealers and prostitutes, etc.

Yep haigh, that's it. 'Takes 12 to convict, but only one "thinker" to keep runny way gubermint in check.
