TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out) Trade was coined by Robert Armstrong of the Financial Times; but seems to have achieved universal acceptance. It's an investment strategy where you buy on the collapse of the market after Trump announces a new tariff, with the expectation that the markets will rise when he later chickens out and announces a pause or a lower tariff rate.

Financial Times: Markets take a pause as investors stop ‘TACO’ trade after one day bounce

Market Watch: The ‘Trump Always Chickens Out’ trade is the talk of Wall Street. Here’s one way to play it.

Barrons: It’s ‘TACO’ Tuesday. The Stock Market Has a New Acronym to Rally Behind

New York Times: Stocks Rally on the ‘TACO Trade’

The Hill: What is the ‘TACO trade’ on Wall Street?

Drudge Report: Wall Street TACO Trade=Trump Always Chickens Out

Pure genius. Trump hands you lemons, make TACOs. Or something like that. Limes would probably be better.

Idiotic, the point of tariffs was always to get other countries to the bargaining table, when they come to the table the tariffs go down, when they make a deal they go down, they were never intended to stay that high.

Trump is winning and the left and their useful idiots try to make it sound like he's losing.

The only valid use of tariffs is to restrict trade, not to negotiate more of it.

We're not gonna rebuild the manufacturing base with "more" global trade.

The valid use is to restrict it and provide revenue so that domestic firms may be relieved of tax burden.
We will have less trade and more domestic production, and we will be freed from the Income Tax.

If it successfully gets rid of the income tax, then sure, I agree with that.

But that's not what he's doing here.

The 'Executive Order' Taco - All Corn, No meat. Limited time only.
The 'Chinese Tariff' Taco - Same taco, 145% higher price.
The 'Lower Inflation' Taco - Discontinued.
The 'One Big Beautiful Bill' Taco - Stuffed with pork and cuts. If you have to ask the price, it's not for you.

Bunk.

People are talkin’, talkin’ ‘bout tariffs
I hear them whisper, “Oh God my 401k!”
They think he’s crazy, his mind is hazy
I just ignore it, but he keeps changing
The rates just a little bit more
(a little bit more)
Those prices for items off shore
(a Chinese iPhone)
Are rising and it’s hard to ignore
I thought of selling, then I heard somebody say:

Don’t worry Trump always chickens out
(Trump always chickens out)
Pay it no heed when he screams and shouts
(Trump always chickens out)
Just take a break, get some tacos out
It’s always a bluff!

Trump is so foolish, he’s idiotic
He said those countries, they would be payin’ the fees
But if you’re watching, you’ll start to wonder
He’s getting rich while we’re going under!
Crypto payments coming his way
(you’ve got to pay)
They flatter him to get a delay
(so easy to sway)
A new grift will appear every day
Building Trump towers
With golden showers (of pee)

Don’t worry Trump always chickens out
(Trump always chickens out)
Pay it no heed when he screams and shouts
(Trump always chickens out)
He’s only padding his bank accounts
It’s always a bluff
