okay, not trying to start anything but Dr. Paul was in Wichita last night and that report says he only received 4 votes in the whole city.

Edit: it looks like that is for the Wichita County - my mistake.

yep. the city of Wichita is in Sedgwick.

that can be confusing.

Gold Star for Pottawotamie County; Beat McCain by 26 votes and pulled in over 28%. GREAT JOB!

He wasn't in Wichita last night.

The local meetup had a $15/$20 per person pre-caucus kickoff party. One of Dr. Paul's sons was there and Paul addressed the gathering over a phone connection. (I wasn't there but talked to people who were). I heard there were roughly 300 people there. But I don't know how accurate that is. But for a paid ticket party, that was probably pretty good attendance.

okay, got it. That's Sedgwick County - 349 votes.

According the results at politico less than 20,000 people voted in the republican caucaus.............in a state with almost 3 million people? That is horribly sad.

I think there was alot of confusion as this was the first caucus since 1988. Nobody knew what to expect or in some cases what to do.

From the Kansas City Star:

http://www.kansascity.com/115/story/483404.html

Rep. Ron Paul of Texas wound up with 2,182 votes, or 11 percent. Other candidates trailed far behind.

About 500 provisional ballots were cast that won’t be counted for about a week. The qualifications of those voters were questioned Saturday at polling sites.

Does this mean what I think it means? (Louisiana, part deux?)

Kansans clearly sent McCain a message, said state GOP Chairman Kris Kobach.

“John McCain has a lot of work to do to get the Republican Party solidly behind him,” Kobach said.

Yeah, dropping out might do it.

I don't know exactly what it means, but I'm surprised to hear others had to cast provisional ballots.

I was worried that I might have to, and it turned out not to be a problem. I had to change my registration, and I did it on the last day you could do so. I asked the woman at the election office when it would be in the system, and she said "Right away". But when I received the card in the mail it listed January 29th as the registration date, rather than January 25th.

With the old lists being used in other states, and people having to cast provisional ballots, and I thought it likely that I might have a problem. But when I got there, I found they had computers to check the registrations. And there was nothing mentioned about the date, either.
