he total — confirmed by the Justice Department — was disclosed by a conservative legal group after the State Department said last week that it would hand over the emails. The number to be released is nearly 50 percent more than the 30,000-plus that Clinton’s lawyers deemed work-related and returned to the department in December 2014.

Dragging their feet until after the election.

The Watergate break-in was almost a non-event too, until the investigation turned up that one tiny nugget about tape recorders in Nixon's office.

Updating our earlier note, it appears The State Department's stalling has been disallowed... (as Bloomberg reports)

A judge ordered the State Department to expedite its review of almost 15,000 previously undisclosed documents recovered by the FBI from Hillary Clinton’s private e-mail servers.

U.S. District James Boasberg on Monday ordered the State Department to process those recovered records by Sept. 22 and report back to him that day. He didn’t set a schedule for public release. The department raised the possibility of a phased release starting Oct. 14, which left open how many would be disclosed before the Nov. 8 presidential election.

“What have they been doing for the past four weeks?” she asked Boasberg, complaining that the government will have had the recovered records for 10 weeks before any of them are released.

The slow trickle of disclosures virtually ensures Clinton’s private e-mail use during her term as the top U.S. diplomat will hobble her for the 78 days remaining until Election Day. Bloomberg poll results released Aug. 10 show at least 58 percent of likely voters say they are troubled by the issue, which has been a centerpiece of Trump’s attacks on her trustworthiness.

30,000 hidden emails uncovered here. Another 14,000 hidden emails uncovered there. Pretty soon it might start to look like she's trying to hide something.

Before people get excited, these emails aren't actually new.

I agree. The reports are indicating the FBI already had these for their investigation, now turning back over to the state department in order to facilitate public release. Non-news worthy.

The Clinton Foundation Shakedown Racket Didn’t Have Enough Buffers to Shield Hillary Clinton
https://www.lewrockwell.com/lrc-blo...-didnt-enough-buffers-shield-hillary-clinton/

Hillary Clinton never expected the incriminating Clinton Foundation e-mails to come to light. They show that her subordinates or associates in the Foundation, Huma Abedin and Doug Band, sold access to the Secretary of State, a clear offense. That’s my reading. There’s enough evidence there to have experienced and unbiased lawyers question them under oath. If this doesn’t come to pass, I’ll take it as one more nail in the rule-of-law coffin in this country.

On an investigation, I support the following:

“These new emails confirm that Hillary Clinton abused her office by selling favors to Clinton Foundation donors,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “There needs to be a serious, independent investigation to determine whether Clinton and others broke the law.”

These two Foundation functionaries were very close to Hillary Clinton. “She [Huma Abedin] has been a long-time aide to Hillary Clinton, and was U.S. Secretary of State Clinton’s Deputy Chief of Staff at the State Department.” Band advised Clinton during his presidency and thereafter.

Although they may have operated the racket on their own, I am certain that Hillary granted access to those whom she knew to be donors and I’m sure that she relied upon Abedin and Band to filter people who gained access to her, giving preference to donors. The donors expected this and got it. However, my judgment is just that. We really need an investigation. Hillary is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. But is there such a court prepared to charge and try her?

The question before us is whether there is any institution within the justice system to test the innocence of a major candidate for the presidency. The FBI has already shown its cowardice and so has the U.S. Department of Justice under Ms. Lynch, who, by the way, met inappropriately (or worse) with Bill Clinton.

I refer to the Godfather’s buffers in Godfather 2.

This is very big and alarming news. Yes, the FBI may have had them earlier, but the public just found out. Don't try to downplay how significant this is for the public. Yes, we should have known sooner about the additional emails hidden by Hitlary, but the fact it was kept from the public is not a basis to downplay Hillary's wrong doings.

It is extremely news worthy. The fact the FBI had not released them earlier does not make these additional hidden emails non-newsworthy. In fact quite the opposite. It makes them all the more important. Yes, they should have been released to the public much sooner. But the fact that her additional wrong-doings and the contents of the emails have been previously withheld from the public is no basis to cover for and downplay Hitlary's misdeeds. It does in fact make them more newsworthy.

Delusional thinking.

 The polls say otherwise. Cruz when he was in the race was doing better than Trump versus Hillary based on the RCP averages. And Cruz wouldn't have put his foot in his mouth nearly as much as Trump has. I'm glad Trump has done his apology tour, walked back his immigration position somewhat, backed away from his "total ban on Muslim immigration" stupdity and reached out to black voters. We'll see if that's enough for him to beat Hillary in the battleground states.
