FAX them all

I'll be calling Shelby to show support after watching that video.

Sen. Bayh - Voicemail, left message
Sen. Lugar - "has not formed an opinion on the issue" -his staff
Rep. Visclosky - "has not taken a position on this issue" -his staff

so far, none of these idiots can make up their minds after 5 days of overwhelmingly negative responses from constituents. until they denounce the bailout in any form, i consider them traitors

Update;

When asked what Sen. Bayh's position on the bailout was, the receptionist said he wasn't allowed to talk about it. he then transfered me to their financial policy expert, John Friedman's voicemail. still a traitor until i get a call back saying he's against in all forms

Rep. Mark Souder (R-IN): No official statement to convey, Republicans working for compromises [This probably means he's going to end up voting for the bill]

Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN): No statement at this time.

I urged him (his staffer) to vote against the bill because it is encouraging bad business decisions. Something like that. Her answer was very short, so I had to come up with something quick. She asked for my name and address.

Sen. Bayh's financial policy 'expert', John Freidman actually called me back and we talked for about ten minutes. he was very polite and I was too, but I was able to own him on any argument on the "senator's belief that something needs to be done" portion. I even got him to concede that the abundance of credit and living beyond our means is what got us here in the first place.

He also said that they've gotten over 4,000 contacts (e-mail, phone, snail mail, fax) and almost all are against this bailout in any form. He also said there were a few crazies that threatend to burn the senators house down (good for them!). In the end, he said the senator hasn't formed an official opinion since the bill has been changing by the hour. I again reitereated that the changes don't matter and that the bill should be rejected in ANY form. A good call, but it seems that Sen. Bayh will end up supporting it. Too bad. Vote them out!

When someone told me has not formed an opinion, I said I'd better leave him mine so he can ;) The person then preceeded to transcribe my message by typing it!

I wonder if this works?
clipped because it didn't work

I hear that there's a Representative from Texas who is our friend on this issue....if only I could remember his name....I think he used to be a Doctor. ;)

Seriously, he needs marked as a friend.

And my rep, John Boozman (Arkansas) is only semi-friendly. Here's one of the few things he's said on it:

Right now, he's against the current plan, but still thinks that something needs to be done by the government to fix this (and it's not less government he wants), so keep calling/emailing/faxing. Just don't be too evil about it - he's not totally against us.

Yes, I thought it was pretty spiffy

You can send one after the other pretty damn quick. I copy/pasted one of the above docs in there. Works slick. I haven't received any email confirmations, though, that is my only concern.
