Farrakhan actually makes some sense on Obama's Lybian strategy "Frightning"

The last person I look to for political analysis especially in the area of foreign policy is the Minister Farrakhan. Don't get me wrong I respect him for what he is, the unrepentant spiritual leader of the Nation of Islam, and a man honest and clear about his beliefs and positions on the issues, which I have always taken for granite that I will for the most part disagree with. And then I see this clip, and my already damaged reality comes crashing down around me. Aside from his Israel bashing, his characterizing the populist anti government movement as being driven by white militias, that voters want Obama out of office because he's black, and all of the wonderful things Kadafi has been doing for his people, and a few more thing I'll leave out for the sake of my fingers, I actually have to say, spot on Minister, spot on. The Obama white house has truly made this an America I no longer recognize or understand. Barack Obama isn't African, he is an illinois citizen to be more exact as that is where he got elected to the senate and has lived there for a while before getting elected.

I don't see black American are Africans or that term is just out of date.

I agree 100% with that sentiment, but Barack has without question used the African American label to his advantage and sadly a lot of black voters where motivated by his race when they voted for him so there is a certain irony in all of this.[REDIRECT][/REDIRECT]

Does being born a certain way mean someone is actively USING a label to their advantage? I'm a moderate, and I think while Obama may not be the change people were hoping for, to blatantly criticize him for something that he has no power over seems silly.

There is no criticism being made of Obama. Only pointing out a political fact. Granted Barock is no Jessy Jackson, but to say he did not use the African American label to his advantageas a politician if he didn't use his African American title to his advantage he would be politically foolish, and for any one to believe he hasn't used it takes a degree of naivete. Harry Reed understood this and praised him for it, not to mention Harry was also instrumental in his candidacy. All and all there is a degree of irony in all of this, not just because of his ethnicity, but also because he ran on ending the Iraq war, and is now managing three wars. (Ear your heart out GW)
