Fantasy Football Anyone?

Yes, though I stopped doing so much online poker and sportsbooks when the legislation made it a pain in the ass to deposit funds. Now I do mostly fantasy football for both the convenience and camaraderie.

I don't like or trust the online or video blackjack games like they have at the Cherokee casino in NC (you sit at an actual table, but it's all done on video. It sucks), but I try to make it out to Tunica, MS at least once a year to play blackjack, craps (and my bro actually hit a royal flush on a game called Mississipi Stud, that's a lot of fun).
Plus you can't card count online :toady:

There aren't many casinos left where you can play single-deck blackjack either, so card counting is pretty difficult nowadays anyway...

Really your best bet is just to go by the book (which pretty much means you run under the assumption that the cards you don't see are 10's, making 2-6 increasingly bust-cards), but the only problem is it makes a little boring outside of the few instances that are judgement calls (which I've learned you're also better off playing the same way every time, rather than trying to guess each time). Dealers and casinos are almsot laways happy to tell you what the book says you should do, as they still have that small 51% edge on you, which will still work in their favor over time.

Even more boring that I just use a progressive betting system ($5 first hand, $10 if I win that one, $15 if I win that one, etc., until you bust and go back to your minimum and start over; though I like to have a cap at like 5X my original bet, so I'm not just investing too much of my profits back into what will inevitably be a bust hand).

Basically, playing "by the book" assumes that a 49% chance is as good as you can ask for, and a progressive betting system assumes that the game tends to be streaky, to capitalize on the hot streaks, and minimize losses on the cold decks...

It shouldn't be too hard to get 12 people together at the same time to do a draft, should it? You boys are toast anyway.

"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to kathy88 again."

Bring it!

Edit: All signed up. Looking forward to it!

Any chance this gets pushed back, say, a week in order to get the necessary people? In any case, I would like to know if this is going to be the locked-in time and date the draft is occurring so I can take off work. Yes, I am willing to lose FRN's for Ron Paul Fantasy Football.

So is the draft perilously close to Ron's speech in Tampa or am I mistaken? Signed up and ready to go.

I'm open to moving the date and time. Saturday and Sunday are the best days for most people, so any weekend works for me. Give me your ideal date/time guys.

I think ten with me. I'll be in Tampa that weekend Sunday's fine as long as it doesn't interfere with Ron's speech.

His speech is actually right around there on Sunday. http://www.ronpaul2012.com/2012/07/06/ron-paul-tampa-rally/ I would be more than happy to do it the first Sunday of September since the preseason will be completely over and everyone should be back home.

I'm good any Sunday except the 12th when I'll be at the PGA Championship! With that said, you can set your draft beforehand and have it auto-draft. I prefer to do it live, but the other way works fine.

Definitely will not be doing auto draft. Live drafts is one of the funnest things about fantasy sports....well that and making fun of someone else picking up a scrub.
