As I mentioned earlier, I will be starting a series of threads where I list whom I believe Rand would select to serve with him in his cabinet. I am basing my assumptions purely on who is in his inner circle, and who among people who share views similar to him.
Likely Pick: Richard Burt
Education: Cornell University (B.A.)
Tufts University (M.A.)
Credentials: -ambassador and chief negotiator in the Strategic Arms Reduction Talks (START)
-U.S. ambassador to the Federal Republic of Germany 1985-1989
-assistant secretary of state for European and Canadian affairs from 1983 to 1985.
Relationship with Rand: Chief Foreign Policy Advisor
Why him: Close relationship with the senator, realist on foreign policy, history of treaty negotiation.
Flaws: Chair of Global Zero, a movement to eliminate nuclear weapons, was used heavily against Chuck Hagel in his confirmation hearings.
Secondary Choice: Andrew Bacevich
Wildcards: Douglas Macgregor, Dana Rohrabacher
If none of these seem plausible, who do you think Rand would select as Secretary of State?
