Fantasy Administration: CIA

Likely Pick: Lt. Col. Anthony Shaffer

EDUCATION:
Wright State University (B.S.)

Credentials:
Sr. Fellow, London Center for Defense Research (2011-Presnt)
Army Intelligence Offer (183-2011)

Relationship with Rand: None

Why Him: Foreign Policy Realist, Whistleblower who tried to Kill Bin Laden, but was stopped (Able Danger)

FLAWS: Frequent guest of Alex Jones Show
Openly stated on Russian TV in 2011 that the cold war's over, and that he would disband the CIA:

Secondary Choice: General John A. Gordon

Wildcards:
Tim Clemente, Tony Camerino

If none of these seem plausible, who do you think Rand would select as CIA chief?

The head of the CIA is not a cabinet member.

True. Will change wording for future posts.

Michael Scheuer!
In an ideal world, he would be Rand's CIA director, or National Security Advisor, but his stances on national security differentiate too much from Scheuer. Plus, he brings a lot of baggage, based on is politically incorrect writings. He would never make it through a confirmation hearing, and would be tarred/feathered as an anti-semite.

Shut the CIA down? Why would he do that? National defense is a legitimate function of the federal government under the Constitution.

You misunderstood me. I'm hoping he will shut down the Office of National Intelligence, not the CIA.

My mistake.

I disagree, though. I think the position of DNI should be kept and that there should be a lot of consolidation within the intelligence community.
