Fair Comparison of Ron Paul & Rick Santorum by Rachel Maddow

Maddow had it right. Steele either was lying through his teeth or doesn't have a clue.

NOBP.

and there you have it. he says very plainly that the 'candidates who are smart' should be trying to get the paul people. IE - try to suck the Paul vote away from Paul and get it to back either Romney or Santorum. We can't have them supporting their candidate in the general.

It is demogoguery to say Ron would legalize prostitution or heroin, he'd have states regulate it. This is not in his campaign platform, clearly.

and yeah, Santorum absolutely wants federal intervention

Michael Steele actually didn't make me cringe for once. He is entirely wrong about our support though, and he and the rest of the GOP will deeply regret counting us out.

Michael Steele seems to like Ron Paul.
Edit:
Hadn't finished it. He is dismissing our support.

During the 2007/2008 election cycle he was dismissive of him saying that RP didn't have any business being on the GOP stage. He's just saying this to not cause "further" alienation from RP supporters

"I would like to congratulate Michael Steele for his leadership on one of the most important issues of today. He is absolutely right: Afghanistan is now Obama's war. During the 2008 campaign, Obama was out in front in insisting that more troops be sent to Afghanistan. Obama called for expanding the war even as he pretended to be a peace candidate.

Michael Steele should not resign. Smart policies make smart politics. He is guiding the party in the right direction and we are on the verge of victory this fall. Chairman Steele should not back off. He is giving the country, especially young people, hope as he speaks truth about this war.

I have to ask myself, what is the agenda of the harsh critics demanding this resignation? Why do they support Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama's war?

The American people are sick and tired spending hundreds of billions of dollars a year, draining our economy and straining our military. Michael Steele has it right and Republicans should stick by him."

Wow I can't believe I never knew about this.

From what ive been seeing is Msnbc giving generally positive ron paul press... wat dat about?

I've seen extremely positive tweets from Michael Steele about Ron Paul.

As somebody who really didn't have any interest in the GOP until supporting Paul, I never understood why he was dropped as RNC chairman. Wasn't he in charge when the GOP regained the House? I am not defending him... just curious as to why he was replaced?

Ethics issues. Something about strippers or pole dancers or something. Don't really remember.
Edit: Nvm that didn't take him down. He must've survived that. I barely remember.
Found it

Yeah it didn't take him down.

what I took from it was you have to wish the Paul people away and get behind another anti-romney candidate, just not Paul...that was what I read between the lines...then it ends with a "meeting." As in a backroom deal with Perry, Santorum and Newt to work something out to stop Paul from rising......

My gosh... Rachel's analysis of the Pro Life position was hysterical. To claim that someone that opposes abortion must, therefore, be in favor of an intrusive government "monitoring every fertilized egg" is just... can she actually look her viewers in the eye and say she really believes that? Geez.

I think MSNBC may play sympathetic to Ron Paul for a while, hoping to win over some viewers. Fox News bias is SO over the top now... I mean, if real reporting was dying on FNC, it's now effectively dead.

Rest assured, though, if Dr. Paul were to face Obama MSNBC would turn from Jekyll to Hyde.

this woman is actually doing more harm than good. there's no conservative on earth who likes Maddow, her selective framing of Ron Paul's viewpoints as to make him even less mainstream Republican wont help us
