The above quote is so filled with irony. It was obviously meant to be a sarcastic response. Yet, it precisely underscores my point.

How about a minute spent reading the real daily news that impacted the debate?

As a man of the south I think it was a bit much and made us look silly. Real patriotism is about actions and words, not singing songs in funny hats.
