With Facebook ‘Places’ just launched a few hours ago, it’s important…no essential that we be the idiots who somehow try to dent the rep of its kitty-in-resident Mark Zuckerberg. Yes, you read it right – we said pussy. Get over it.

Over the years while we’ve seen the social network grow to such preposterous profits that we find the need to gift the idiot-in-charge one major dookie. Yes, you read it right – we said something important.

Without any more ado, it’s time for…

Well best thing for us consumers and users of Facebook....we can all rally and change the policies and direction of FB since its now under the behest of public pressures and public backlash which equals to revenue effects of money and share values lost..... COOL

Worth more than McDonald's? I don't think so!

Even McDonald's has a better web site than they do!

Facebook will be the new MySpace, it isn't worth 1/10th of its current stock price.

Those are the advertisers that make FB a worthwhile investment? No Nike? No HP, Dell or Apple? (real Apple, not the morons claiming to give away iPads)
No McDonalds, Kellogs, YSL, or any of the other heavy hitters that pay Google all the time?

Oh, that's right. Those companies all have free Facebook pages, and get shared all the time. I see Kraft stuff on my wall (not in the ad column) - but that's because I liked their page at one time. They don't need to advertise - they get word-of-mouth from my page.

Huh. Mine (fake name, ofc) had an ad for Ford, a bunch of political stuff and paleo-friendly "bread." What are you up to? :p

I never understood the ads meant to be clicked on part...ads are meant for exposure. As long as the person sees the ad it has done it's job. Personally, I would never take my company 'public'.

Oh, they made a very wise decision to take facebook public because it has nowhere to go but down, especially with its new timeline interface. Cashing out now is very smart.

Might want to clear your cookies, none of that stuff ever comes up for me. just a bunch of political bs, games, and cooking stuff.

Nothing has changed in regards to controling where the company goes. Zuckerberg still owns the majority of the voting shares. What he says, goes.

This. Absolutely.

Look for Facebook to go the way of a penny stock in under 2 years.

I never heard anything positive on the news about it in the days before going public. They would always talk about how GM stopped advertising on FB and that FB was increasingly being used by mobile users and that mobile users click or can see the ads to a far lesser degree than desktop/laptop users.

Exactly. People don't use facebook to click on those bullshit ads and be linked elsewhere. If facebook really wants to profit off of their service, they need to find a way to charge for it.

I agree, doesn't everyone run adblock and noscript?

I predict a $0.99 monthly fee, or a $10 a year contract, coming soon to a Facebook mobile phone ap near you.

Having a stock take off like gangbusters at the opening bell means it was underpriced. Therefore, a stock that is stable at the open is priced correctly, but that's a pretty damned boring story.

The key is what it does in the week or so after it opens- after the enthusiasm of the biggest stock issue of the year fades. Currently the price is about 100 times earnings while most stocks are below 20.

Yeah, I don't see it. But I didn't understand the premium Netflix was demanding either. :)

Yeah, it'll be interesting to see how Facebook will magically generate revenue. Zuckerman defeinitely made some wise decisions by going for long-term profit, but his business plan has always been:

1. Build free website that hundreds of millions of people visit everyday.
2. Magic!
3. Profit.

Anyone thinking they will bring in tens of billions in ad revenue/year are deluding themselves.

I would call being valued at $100Billion and staying steady at the IPO price pretty good

Have you looked at the graph? High frequency trading occurred at 40 and 38, Morgan Stanley probably holds half of the traded shares of facebook now because they didn't want to lose face since they brought the stock to the market. This sucker is going down next week. fair value? 6 bucks. Trololololo.
