When there is a big fat color f*cking Front page photo of McCain and Romney on 75% of the paper's today!

Not to mention that even if they talk about Ron, its only to say he's crazy. I mean they are getting a 100 million dollars of free advertising today alone!!

Someone explain to me how we have a chance and why I should keep fighting...

It's all about the delegates. It's a marathon. From what I listened to on Ron Paul's website about precinct leaders, if we can build up the delegates for Ron Paul and hope for no candidate at the convention getting 51%, we're in really good shape. It'll make all the mainstream media bullshit irrelevant. I don't even think the mainstream media or the other campaigns really understand the delegate process.

I know its about the delegates, but the way this thing is shaping up is that McCain will sweep super tuesday and then receive millions and millions of free press as the only candidate left. Then he will go to the convention with 200 delegates compared to McCain's 900. I hate to be a downer, and I will hope for a big turn of events, but I think he has all the momentum and the sheep in this country aren't interested in learning more about the issues.

Get ready for 4 more years of Bush. Only with more war and less freedom!

Not a chance McCain could take down Obama. Obama raised $32 million last month alone.

let's just hope it won't be hillary/mccain

"why I should keep fighting..." because.. when it's all said and done you'll want to be able to say you tried to do the right thing.

And if you simply give in then the neocon/corporate/media folks get an easy ride and you don't want that to happen do you? With each day Ron Paul stays in the race it becomes more obvious that the media is influencing/manipulating this election.

Delegates aren't your average citizen.

Ok, but first you tell me how we had a chance and why I should have kept fighting for the years before this campaign actually got some traction. Why should I have kept talking to the people around me about the same stuff over and over, long after I thought any of them were listening?

Why should Ron Paul have kept going to Congress and proposing the same legislation year after year, only to have it sent to committee each time so it could be conveniently ignored?

How do you think we even got where we are? It wasn't by standing down and it wasn't by wasting time, it was by doing what mattered. Always.

They tell us, sir, that we are weak -- unable to cope with so formidable an adversary. But when shall we be stronger? Will it be the next week, or the next year? Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house? Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction? Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance, by lying supinely on our backs, and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?

Sir, we are not weak, if we make a proper use of the means which the God of nature hath placed in our power. Three millions of people, armed in the holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us. Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone. There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us.

The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave.

Since it's all about delegates, then why did the other candidates drop out?

Seems like they would also be thinking they would have a chance.

Go to Kinkos. Photocopy Llepard's USA Today ads. Stop by the paper machine every morning between now and the election and manually insert it into the newspaper.
Post it daily at bank machines, at gas stations, in doctor's offices, in dentist's offices.
Send it around the world the next time you fly by inserting it into the Duty Free in flight magazines.

The next time you see a movie put flyers in every seat.

In public restrooms put Ron Paul stickers neatly over the hand dryer and inside the bathroom stalls at eye level.

We can't depend on the media. We have to fight.

If it's Hillary/McCain, Ron will run 3rd party. He'll get a lot of Obama voters and the 10% or so of the R party that is anti-war. Add in the C/L/I voters too...

I think people are over-estimating the R party. Although the turnout for the primaries has been decent in the big primary states, in a general election, the R party will be humbled. Paul might look silly going up against the pro-war R party from within, but as a 3rd party he has a great platform. He just needs the money and a party to back him. I prefer Constitution party as some people seemed turned off by the L tag. Remember how well Perot was doing before he sank himself.

It's a double-edged sword. I want Obama if Ron doesn't make it to the general election, but if he DOES make it, there's no way he'll beat Obama. Hoping for a brokered convention is risky. But we'll see how things go. Florida's older population is making McCain look good, but Romney fought hard last night and will do well in the more liberal states. Keep your fingers crossed since the BEST chance Ron has is as a R party nominee coming from a brokered convention.

First of all, this is the NEWS forum. Post this stuff in grassroots, where a larger audience can feel your anguish.

If you don't try, you lose. If you give up, you lose.

The only way you can win, is to not give up and to keep trying.

So you decide. You want to go out on your feet or on your knees? The choice is yours.

Seriously, why would you be happy about Obama? Just because he can talk eloquently? What has he done to deserve such a position like President? He won't take a stance on any important issues because he was afraid of alienating voting blocks. He's the complete opposite of Ron Paul who is the only candidate that can seriously use his voting record to stand on.

Hey if you want change, you gotta fight for it and make it happen. Sure it's not going to be easy, but you never know what may happen, and thats why you should keep trying till the end.

what makes you so sure that even if mccain does get the nomination that he will be president? i can guarentee that wont happen. the only republican that has a chance of going up against a democrat is ron paul. plus even if we dont get the nomination then we go for an independent ticket!!!

WE will have to stop McCain's momentum, through the delegate process. For the first part of the primary race, the idea was to let the 'big boys' burn themselves out and block each other's progress. Yeah, it would have been better for Romney to have won FL to sustain the chaos, but now that SUper Tuesday is upon us, the clarity of McCain vs. us puts it directly on this movement and campaign to keep McCain from reaching 51%.

We have assets, like Rush and many conservatives detesting McCain, Lou Dobbs and the protected borders movement likely opposed to him, evangelicals in opposition, etc. Paul should seek both the CP and LP nods to augment himself as the true alternative. Note how niceness works also---by not attacking Romney and Huckabee, their voters will have a place to go once they drop out. And if we just keep plugging away at the money bombs, delegate pickups and the precinct canvassing, we can bypass the media.

Man has always asked that same question when faced with odds stacked against him. You need to make that decision on your own, no one here can tell you what is worth fighting for. The way I look at it, we walk through life ONE Time, why not give it your all and have that moment, win, lose, or draw of total complete POWER. Then take that Personal Power Moment and use it as a tool in every other thing you do on your journey.

Too many of us feel we have no personal power, seems like you need to find yours!

What I can only add is, imagine, you are Ron Paul on that Stage last night waiting, and waiting to express a point of view that hundreds and hundreds of people have urged you to express. You get your moment, and you deliver! The courage, to stand up to all the media splashed photos of John McCain throughout the Country, and say I am confident in my theory, my message, and my goal. he is truly a leader, and regardless of how things work out, he never gave up!

Hope this helps!
