This is a great documentary, watched it last night, shows Christians from both sides of the debate. It gives a compelling argument for Christians to reevaluate their support for Israel.

Christian Zionism Stems From Bad Theology of "Last Things"

In my opinion and in my experiences with Christians, I would say that the chief cause of Christians' undying support for the nation of Israel is poor eschatology. That poor eschatology is a system of theology called "Dispensationalism."

They do talk about Dispensationalism in the documentary. I actually don't know much about eschatology, but I have heard a lot of end times prophecies about Israel and how the nation of Israel is somehow more favored by God than other nations. I believed a lot of it until recently.

This is a fascinating subject because I came to realize quite a long time ago that most Christians do not understand the nature of the true relationship the word of God speaks of with regard to the state of Israel and the *true Jews* and what the bible actually says.

The mystery surrounds St. Paul's words here. Romans 9:6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: 7Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.

Romans 2: 28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:
29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

The from the mouth of God Himself says this about those who call themselves the true Jews but are not here:

Revelation 2:
9 I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.

Revelation 3:
9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.

So then we can see that Paul and Revelation are both speaking in terms of a *spiritual Israel* and not the land or the people who inhabit it who call themselves the "Jews", but do not believe in Jesus Christ as the savior. Those are the Jews that Revelation 2:9 and 3:9 is speaking of.

So politically speaking, I think many Christians are ignorant of the fact that supporting the state of Israel is not actually biblical at all. Gods word clearly says who the true Jews are and are not and what God is going to do to the actual land of Israel and those calling themselves Jews who are not the true Jews of God. This is not anti-Semitism, but Gods own word because God's says He will gather all of His true Jews back into the covenant of grace through faith--meaning that only those who have believed in the Son Jesus Christ will be those *true Jews* that will be grafted back into the true Vine/Jesus.

This is where I know that Christians who fallaciously believe that we are called to support the nation of Israel are wrong according to the word of God. This is the fulfilment of prophecy as far as I can tell. Because in Revelation when Jesus returns, He's going to literally split Jerusalem in two when He sets His feet upon the Mount of Olives because at that time, according to prophecy Jerusalem will already be split religiously and politically Jews, Muslims and the Christians (three parts)-- as it is now being the fight over the Temple Mount between the Muslims and the Jews.

Revelation 16: 19And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. 20And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found. 21And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail; for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

If you would simply study the roots and founders of Zionism it would be clear that there is nothing of God in it.

It grew out of the Socialist and Nationalists (National Socialist) movements in Europe.. and was founded by Atheists who also rejected Judaism..
It was flatly and openly rejected by Jewish leaders and teachers for many years before it finally gained a following.

No Christian should ever support such, but sadly, many are deceived.
