Everyone take a deep breath and repeat after me...

Hate to burst your bubble bro...

but in a month or so there are no more caucuses, or proportional states.

We need to actually WIN a state to get delegates.

Not unless he decides to run 3rd Party. They really need to look at that, Ron Paul can get the money and the independents. He needs to run as one.

But in the case of a brokered convention those delegates would still come unbound, am i wrong? (i very well could be but this is my understanding).

In a brokered convention, the delegates are far more likely to get behind a Romney / Santorum ticket or a Jeb Bush ticket than they are to get on board with Ron Paul. It is bordering on delusional to think we can win the Presidency without winning a single primary.

How about us doing our own Reality Check, who needs Ben Swann?

Ron Paul is NOT winning this nomination. Full stop.

He needs to continue on as far as possible reaching as many people as possible with his message until the money runs out. He is going to find it very hard to fundraise after tonight.

This isn't a negative post its a realistic post.

Do you guys really think the american people that vote for newt/mitt/santorum are going to be happy when Ron Paul gets elected to the nomination by sliming his way in with delegates? No those people will be pissed and won't vote or will vote for donald trump when he decides to run.

sorry, you are wrong. i was involved in the delegate process in 08. made it to my State Convention. You guys making ill-informed statements are whats going to screw Ron. All these delegate counts you see the media posting up are not reality...its basically a guesstimate that they portray for the ...ill-informed. ...

As i recall, Ron did'nt 'win' my state in the caucus/primary in my state, but when it came time for the conventions, Paul supporters damn near took over the State convention. There is nothing underhanded or slimy about it. Whats slimy and underhanded is what the MEDIA does during the caucus/primary weeks, and people eat it up and take it for truth.

This is old knowledge, and has been explained ad naseum. It's like some of you guys don't have comprehension skills, and watch too much TV.

Oh really? Tell me now what state called called out that they cast the majority of their vote for RP at the 2008 R convention????

says who?...wolf?...its a lie...I REPEAT....we have not had ANY conventions yet. Until then i suggest you educate yourself.

Do you honestly think that out of the 2286 people that will be delegates at the RNC 1144 of them will be RP supporters? Are the other campaigns that inept that they can't get their people to run for delegate?

If we can't win, at least causing chaos in the convention and focusing on our positions will worth the delegate game.

I disagree about causing chaos. I always think we should be gracious losers. But I do agree about getting some of our positions as part of the platform.

your ill-informed and you really need to follow the process.

At county i was an automatic county delegate, or PCO. I then managed to get elected to state during my Legislative District caucus at my county convention along with a small army of unknown Paul supporters. We didn't give ourselves away, and i gave a small speech that people liked. Some were Paul supporters and hell, they might have all been Paul supporters, i don't know, because no one wore anything that would give them away. Anyway, along with 2000 plus other Paul delegates we made our way to State where we blew Huck and Romney supporters away. Unfortunatly, McCain had the establishment party firsters in a small majority and we got shut out, and most of my States 40 national delegates went off to national. I believe this was the case in a lot of States.

Sooo...it ain't over till State Conventions, but you MUST..MUST get to county first.

This will be the umpteenth time this has been explained.

Not wrong...just overly optimistic. Ther isn't going to be a brokered convention. Thihis year is NOT any differnet than the democrats in 2008, and many other primary seasons before it. I know people want to think that this is some extraordinarily close race that we have never seen in this country before, but that is not the case. And despite others being just as close if not closer, there has NEVER been a brokered convention, and it isn't going to start now.

Besides, like it or not, Romneey won tonight. I don't know where someone here got that he was a big loser, but he didn't lose a single state that he was expecting to win, and if he keeps Ohio, he picked up one that he was not. (Or at least that was a toss up.)

And it is not just Ron Paul that will take a hit from the caucus schedule winding down. Check out Santorum's results so far. He is stronger in caucuses too. Romney is strongest in primaries. Primaries favor the mainstream choice. And Newt...well, Newt will be done soon so no reason to talk about him. (And as much as you want to think that all his supporters will vote for Paul....they won't. Some will. Some will choose not to vote at all...and others will actually vote for Roney. No...not every Gingrich vote is an anti-Romney vote.)

California is going all to Romney. There really is no way to dispute that without looking crazy. As is NY which will probably also be winner take all for Romney if Gingrich drops out by then.

in all honesty? i don't care. if we manage to get Ron Paul the nomination, i really don't care if they don't vote. we're trying to end the wars, save the dollar, and restore our civil liberties. i don't really care if some establishment Republicans get po'd.

I will add this. If in my State Convention we manage to get a MAJORITY of delegates who support Ron Paul, we will be sending ALL 40 National delegates to TAmpa to vote for Ron. This process needs to be worked out in as many States as possible, but i'm afraid with this mis-perception about media delegate numbers, it will scare off people. People who don't/won't take the time to understand the process...again.

I want to be gracious, but if we are too nice, they will take advantage of us and things will repeat in 2016. We must be strong and assertive.

Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose. Tonight we're dealing with the latter. Got a couple of silver metals so not too bad overall. The GOP nomination is not coming our way guys - at least this time. Paul can run again at age 80 and I hope he does if Rand is not ready. Why not. We just need an Obama win to make that a possibility.

We could just say life expectancy is expanding and retirement age is raising to be 70, so 80 is the new 65.

Out of all the States so far, do you know how many Paul delegates got elected to county conventions?

All I know is that I will be running in may to become a delegate. Even if I have to vote mittens 1st vote. If they send me and then by chance I become unbound I will be voting paul at the convention.

Simple as that people. It may look bad buy its not over yet and I'm going to do every thing I can till its over. Even if that means flying to Florida or wherever only to be defeated.

It will not be said that I DID NOTHING.

In my 2008 county convention, i told everyone in my LD caucus that i was un-decided. It worked. I was elected to State on the 3rd ballot vote.
