Everyone Please, Just Take a Deep Breath

I called Linda Hunnicutt (Granny Warrior) and together we discussed how best to handle all of the rumors and inuendos. I assured her that no one from our group of organizers had anything to do with any criticism whatsoever of the Granny Warriors or their causes. In fact, we have been openly positive and supportive of them and that is why when I read what had been written about our group, I became alarmed, and decided to call Linda myself.

The Grannys were rightly concerned over whether or not our group of organizers were on the up and up. They have been doing this for long enough to know that many scams (in the name of the cause) have hurt people by essentially stealing their money under the guise of asking for donations.

To address this, we will be posting our bios on the site with a contact number so that any one can call with questions and concerns. Bear in mind, we are not professional organizers, there will be occasional oversights and errors on our part. It was an oversight to not post our bios in the beginning. The Grannys were right to address this.

Having stated the above, there is lots of misinformation floating around with regard to our marching and rally permits.

WE HAVE SECURED JULY 12TH ON THE WEST SIDE OF CAPITOL HILL.

I talked with our permit officer today and explained the concern. I was told that permit information is never given out and if people want to verify this march, they can call and ask if the west side of Capitol Hill is reserved for July 12th. That is the only information that will be given out. As to the other concerns about permits:

In order to put on both a march and a rally, you need to contact and/or apply in several jurisdictions:

1. Dept of Homeland Security
2. The metro police dept
3. The Capitol Hill police dept.
4. The National Parks Service.

We have applied for 4 starting points for our march with the NPS. We're currently working out the details. The DHS and the metro police handle the rent-a-cop deal for the march. The D.C. police handle the permit for the rally.

The process is time consuming and complicated. I'm sure it is why HQ abandoned the effort.

There were other questions and false accusations posted elsewhere on this forum that I don't feel the need to address point by point as I don't have the time. I do, however, invite anyone with concerns to let me know and I will address them accordingly.

I believe Linda and I had a meeting of the minds. Both our hearts are in the right place. It is common for misunderstandings to take place whenever legions of people are involved in something. Debra and I did speak, at legnth and I do think she is on the up and up and is really concerned over the trash spoken on this list. She says and I have no reason not to believe her that the very people doing all of the trash and bashing on both the march and the festival are not in any way involved with the organizers. That said it is simply a matter of agitators trying to see that nothing is done on either event that means anything. The group here that does the most bashing and twisting of messages simply love the drama they stir up and eveidently they have very little to do with their time. We ( Debra and I ) do.

I am confident that Debra will be posting the scanned copy of their permit for the Capitol and when available the permit from the parks service. With their bios listed on the website and a contact number people can be sure of what their money is going for which is all we wanted in the first place. Obviously we were talking to people who had no connection with the march or any connection to anything other than their imaginations.

This is the last post we will be making on this forum on this subject. It is dead and the people who continue to stir the kettle will be doing it on their own and hopefully the sensible readers here will realize this is just another trip down la la lane.

The March will go forward and so will the Festival. People may take their pick sit on this forum and try to tear apart others or get up and do something constructive.

We ALL need to look at this thread as a FINE EXAMPLE of how we resolve differences and concerns in this movement.

You know people, sometimes it is just better to pick up the phone. Sometimes, only then can you really get a feel for where someone heart is.

And I personally believe that NEARLY EVERYONE that is really working hard in this Revolution like Deb and Linda are, share a common ground where their hearts romp and play together. Somewhere like Libertopia. I'll see you all there!

Cool Deborah, Marc Scibilia has been waiting for someone, anyone to contact him about playing at the rally, but he nor I have heard anything yet. Marc and I are putting together a US tour to promote this rally. We would like to fell a little more included if possible. Marc is about to start promoting something at great expense, and we don't even know if he's going to be invited to play at the main rally. He has a European tour that he's had to push back until after the 12th, so it would be great if someone official could contact us and tell us if they plan to have this champion of the freedom cause play or not. Please...??

Thank you both Deb and Linda. I am glad to hear that this is worked out as I was honestly ready just to drop the whole thing and only speak through pm's as the drama was getting to be too much. I even started several replies stating as much but deleted them as I couldn't seem to get the wording right... hopefully we can move forward in unison as we are all fighting for a common good here.....

Linda, I do owe you an apology and I would like to do so publicly as I have made some harsh statements. I jumped onto the defensive when I felt this effort was being sabotaged. And I didn't understand the reason for the push to produce a copy of the permit, but then again I have been following this whole process very closely since I am in close proximity to DC and believe in this effort. I trusted and continue to trust that Deb has done and continues to do everything that she states.. she has been very forth coming ever since she took over this project from the campaign and I jumped in her defense ..... I do apologize and hope that you will accept my heartfelt apology..... :o

Please bear with us? You already know how I feel about having Marc there. If it were up to me, it would be a done deal. But I answer to others on the board. As you can imagine, many many bands and entertainers are vying for a spot. We are hammering it out. Marc Scibilia fans we hear ya.

I am glad to know Granny Warrior is cool about this and has definitely done some type of networking to let us know what is up.

I never ever want to see fights within the grass roots, and I firmly believe those looking for fights or those purposely spreading falsified information (I hope not purposely), that arguing, yelling, falsifying, belittleing, name calling, bickering, etc etc gains no useful ends. The justification for this behavior is tremendously trivial and ignorant in nature. The huge mass bulk of Paul supporters in which you will go to rallys or caucuses and meet, are awesome people... very cool and dedicated. In no way shape or form shall a few "what ever you want to call them - bad apples?" shall ever spoil good people and the ideas that come from them.

I still do question how the final date for the granny warriors and Alex Jones event was decided and whether or not they took into account other grassroots activities.

And as always, I commend the dedication, promotion, and planning of all grassroots organizers. With out our Granny Warriors, Alex Jones's, Ron Pauls, Trevors Lymans, Barry Goldwaters, and you (all of the grassroots) none of this is possible. All of us need to be commended.
