I'm not saying they aren't telling the truth - I'd just like to hear from any older members that are seeing this supposed effect of too many calls.

Anyone?

Otherwise, I would not give it too much credence. The campaign can turn on the phones if it is becoming a negative... (and they have the tools to determine if it is.)

Are you making calls?

Anybody who is refusing to caucus because they get too many calls aren't solid supporters anyways, it is the same type of person that doesn't like Ron Paul because his supporters are too aggressive.

lol...this nation is full of pansies...always shifting the blame because there is no personal responsibility.

Its takes a couple years to lose the urge of alarm. PFH is working GOTV is working KEEP calling.

Been here since early 2007. I did about 60 calls today and found 10 people coming.

Yes there is massive overlap, but right now it is about getting the people on the fence to come out.

It is worth it

"Well, here's the deal. I'd think anyone voting for Paul would just say I'm voting for Paul and I'll be there. Thanks for calling. Later."

Who says "Well, I was thinking about saving the country, but if I get another phone call about it, I'll just let it keep going to hell??"

I don;t think the neg responses are from Paul voters... just a guess.

I got a lot of hangups. It seemed like they already knew what it was about and just hung up.

I'm not calling right now, but I made a few dozen this morning. Out of the people I reached, most had been contacted already. One sounded like a weak voter, and was pretty brusque. At least five people asked not to be called again.

On the other hand, I reached several supporters who wanted to vote but hadn't figured out the location of their precinct (and who had not been previously contacted).

N.B., this was at about 10:00 am PST (noon in Iowa).

I've seen several tv spots of Iowans complaining about all the calls they get. They say their phones ring every 15 minutes with campaign calls. Not US in particular, but all campaigns. They are getting swamped like never before right now!

Completely possible... there's thousands of supporters and only ~100,000 likely caucus goers. There's bound to be overlap.

There have been angry people, but with people just coming home there is also something to be said for calling.

Honestly, I don't see how you could live in Iowa and not know it is caucus day, but I CAN see how you might not have looked up the location and as the time comes....

everyone has to decide for themselves, absent instruction from the campaign.

That is NOT true at all. Not everyone is as intense as we are, you know and they don't have to be, either. We just need their votes.

I am not saying not to call. Not at all. Just not to be so glib about some of the supporters.

Are you hearing any negative reactions from your phone from home experience today?

We do have soft support who are just doing the 'better than' dance without looking deeply. But the campaign asked us to call and hasn't asked us to stop.

It's possibly true...I made phone calls for another candidate in the 2004 election. I got a lot of hang-ups and negative reactions due to the fact that these people were inundated with phone calls.
