Keep in mind that Walker is an establishment choice.

As long as Rand stands with McConnell, I predict he will continue to flounder. The voters looks at Rand Paul and think, man that defeating the Washington Machine stuff sounds great, but he must be full of crap since he endorsed McConnell. Meanwhile, Ted Cruz rightly called McConnell a liar on the Senate floor and Carly Fiorina has called for Boehner and McConnell to step down. And other candidates are bashing the establishment as well.

Rand needs to explain why he endorsed McConnell, but then explain that McConnell lied to him and the American people in breaking the promises that led to the landslide election. McConnell has prioritized TPA, the Patriot Act, and the Export-Import Bank while at the same time surrendering on ObamaCare, illegal amnesty, and Planned Parenthood. Absolutely disgraceful and Rand is sunk by association.

It's not like Paul would have endorsed Bevin, who, as we saw with the numbers, had next to no chance of coming close to defeating a longstanding incumbent like McConnell.

The best thing probably would have been to stay neutral, like Cruz did in Texas. I do think if Rand had backed Bevin then he would have won.

He backed Brannon- he didn't win his race. McConnell was too well established at at that point, I think, for anyone else on the right to be a credible threat.

It's debatable, but Rand has a lot more influence in Kentucky than North Carolina.

im a believer that rand knew he was going to run for 2016 president and he needed to back mcconnell to get mcconnells support to let the kentucky gop let him dual run.

if so, id say doing such will be worth it in the end.

If Walker is an establishment guy and he's attacking McConnell, one of them must be running afoul of the establishment. This is more divide and conquer rubbish and I'm not buying into it, and neither should anybody else on this forum.

Senators from the same state - even if different parties - are elected by about the exact same constituents - different years only, of course.
And they serve those exact same constituents while in office together.

It is not that unusual for Rand to have some things in common with McConnell - and he really won and forced the Patriot Act to get acted on,
rather than just the status quo of letting everything wait till the end and scammed through.
