I don't need evidence of anything. If you are making the positive assertion that an immaterial thing called "mind" exists, then the burden is on you to prove how immaterial realities like "mind" can exist in a universe composed only of matter.

EDIT: Oh I'm sorry, you implied that you had a physical brain. How do you know that you have a brain? Did you sense it?

Well I would give an explanation, but it's not appropriate in this thread. I'm not a strict atheist for one, and I am not a materialist. I do not believe that the universe is just made up of matter. I think matter/mind are both real but inseparable, so that is where i might differ from you since you would probably say matter/mind are both real but separate i.e. dualism.

"Thoughts" are immaterial. You just refuted yourself again.

No they aren't...they are measured in labs because they are made up of little tiny things that move around in space very fast.

I was really hoping for Eduardo, because I was wagering that he would say a bunch of crap that is identical to the United Methodist movement or the non-denominational types, so that I could then ask him why I should be a catholic specifically. I am trying to figure out how he is a catholic, and don't want to specially target him with a thread and invite his defensiveness. Oh well.

And that is why I am not going to bother with this troll thread. I'm sure the rest of the forum will provide you with enough entertainment mr perfidy. Goodnight.

Okay then: Where does "mind" exist, and how does one come to know it?

No offense, but couldn't you just say "the church tells you to do x"? Isn't that Rome's basic apologetic?

Of course it does, it claims there is not God. Which is an idiotic claim which defies reason.

No- not really. People who are arguing the existence of something that only they perceive are the ones who are making a claim, and therefore the ones expected to offer proof

Yeah...that's why I am using examples like the mind and bicep. Have a moment with them; exhibits A and B.
