Surprised that there isn't a thread yet for him. Eric won his primary last month. He is facing an incumbent, however 1) his district was just gerrymandered shortly before the primary, so more than half the voters are new to him and 2) he has only been in office since 2007.
Almost all of Eric's opponent's funding has been from big-money. He seems to be clearly scared of the Ron Paul army, because ever since Eric entered the race, he's made "grassroots funding" the theme of his campaign. After Eric won the primary, his opponent sent out a (tax-payer funded) flyer two weeks afterward to his constituents about his campaign finance plan. Eric's opponent stated that he was just going to 'put aside' his huge amount of money temporarily, until 1000 actual people donate to him (so that he can pretend to be "grassroots.")
But despite being an incumbent and sending out those tax-payer funded flyers, as of 2 days ago, Eric's opponent has been failing miserable, he's not even at the half way point yet.
Anyway, enough about him.
Eric's a long-time supporter of Ron Paul. In 2007, he quit his job to campaign for Paul in Iowa and South Carolina. He is a Veteran for Ron Paul and was there at the March to the White House. He has made videos stating why people should stand behind Ron Paul, the one man who stands for the Constitution, including this one which was used for this grassroots Ron Paul ad.
He made a post recently on the Daily Paul about why he is running. If you haven't read it yet, please check it out.
Eric Knowles is a constitutionalist and will not vote against our constitution. We need more Ron Paul republicans in Congress to continue Ron Paul's work. Please donate if you can. At the very least, please help spread the word about him.
